  1. 2005 T&C No Start and wouldn't register Park and Neutral

    4th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2001-2007
My son has our old minivan now, and recently he began having problems getting the van to start. He also reported the he couldn't get the gear selector to register Park ( P ) or Neutral ( N ), and that made sense why the van wouldn't start, then, because of the various lockouts. After some...
  2. Front parking brake cable - design change?

    4th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2001-2007
I've figured this out, finally. The correct part number for my van (LWB, with Stow n Go), is 04721310AE . For others replacing their brake cables, I would recommend contacting your local dealer who will use a lookup tool with your VIN to verify the correct parts for your van. There's confusion...
  3. Exhaust Rattle from rear of '05 T&C Touring

    4th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2001-2007
So here's the long overdue update, from the long overdue repair... I got back under the van in the last few weeks and fixed this rattle. The original repair on the rear-most heatshield is still holding up well. The Al washers I made are doing fine and that heatshield still held firmly in...
  4. Front parking brake cable - design change?

    4th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2001-2007
The crimp joint is in the middle of the cable. The original version did not have this, and the braiding of the two joined cables are unique, too. I guess I'm trying to understand if this was an "improvement", or an approved "re-worked" part from Mopar, and has anyone else used these for a...
  5. Front parking brake cable - design change?

    4th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2001-2007
I'm replacing all the parking brake cables on our 2005 T&C with Stow-n-Go. The new front cable came in, and it is a Mopar part, P/N 4683285AD . Does anyone know why the new cable has a crimped joint in it at the end to the parking brake lever? I noticed it right away and thought it was a...
  6. Sliding door hard to open

    4th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2001-2007
I'm dredging this thread back up, as it was the best guidance to help me fix the same issue on our 2005 Town & County's power sliding doors. The only thing I wanted to add was some pictures of the motor/clutch and what you're cleaning. Motor: Clutch: Clutch Debris: The red arrows...

  8. Exhaust Rattle from rear of '05 T&C Touring

    4th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2001-2007
I have a rattle in the back of our '05 T&C again. It's most noticeable at idle, but it varies with engine speed. I'll probably get up under there sometime this weekend, but I'm pretty sure I know what it is. With the Stow-N-Go seating in the back, there is a heatshield the is clamped to the...
  9. '05 T&C - smoke from back of engine and power steering started groaning

    4th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2001-2007
The problem clamping point was one of the ones across the base of the subframe, not the one that attaches at the back of the engine - that one was the only clamp that I could reuse on the new line.
  10. '05 T&C - smoke from back of engine and power steering started groaning

    4th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2001-2007
FIXED! I finished re-attaching the EVAP cannister yesterday evening and filled/flushed/bled the steering system with new fluid. Everything is working as it should, and the last of the previously-leaked ATF is burning off of the exhaust. The fluid level stayed consistent after my wife took the...
  11. '05 T&C - smoke from back of engine and power steering started groaning

    4th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2001-2007
I put the van up on ramps last night, wiped down everything underneath and started the engine back up as Joel suggested. The leak is in the high pressure line - right at the point where a securing clamp attaches. Even with the rubber wrap on the clamp, the line had finally wore/corroded...
  12. '05 T&C - smoke from back of engine and power steering started groaning

    4th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2001-2007
On my drive to work I noticed small plumes of smoke coming from the front-right (US-passenger front) of our 2005 T&C Touring FWD with the 3.8L. At first, I thought it was from someone else's vehicle, but it was noticeable a few miles down the road, so I stopped again to check it out and the...
  13. MP3 player adapter for 4th generation m/vans

    4th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2001-2007
The adapter is the PXDX from Peripheral electronics (now PAC Audio) - I have installed a number of these and it is a good aux-input solution for factory radios. If you also wanted an iPod-specific connection, the adapters from USAspec offer iPod (with charging and some control, which is nice if...
  14. 05 T&C, engine dies, add gas and it eventually starts - fuel gauge or pickup problem?

    4th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2001-2007
Since the reading seems to be reporting correctly, now, after the cooling fan realy control-line repair, we'll keep an eye on the gas gauge and see if it starts acting up again. If it does, I'll dig into it some more, starting with a check of the signal lines from the fuel level sender to the PCM.
  15. 05 T&C, engine dies, add gas and it eventually starts - fuel gauge or pickup problem?

    4th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2001-2007
An update (and odd coincidence?) ... after repairing a bad section of the control line to the cooling fan relay last week (see this post here... http://forum.chryslerminivan.net/showthread.php/25050-Code-P0480-Cooling-fan-relay-replaced-once-already-and-recently ), my wife is now reporting that...
