  1. 15" 215/70-15 Blizzak WS80 set on steel rims for sale (Includes spacers for GEN 4)

    For Sale
We traded in our 2007 Grand Caravan, but I didn't want the snow tires to be junked. Note, the suspension was redone before the latest set of snows, so no cupping or odd wear. These are Steel 15" junkyard rims (all straight, three I repainted), likely from a GEN3. I bought the rims in 2008. The...
  2. Leatehr seats too slippery - ideas?

    Upholstery & Interior Care
I've never been a fan of leather seats, though this is our third vehicle with them. Unfortunately, to get the light interior with the Pacifica, it has to be leather. So, what does everyone recommend to keep from sliding around? My '91 SHO (Which I still have) I converted the inserts to cloth...

Time to close the thread and chapter of the life of the Minivan. I took extensive time to pick throug hthe car, and finally pulled the Intake to look at the lifters. I'd deemed it a mechanical issue based on everything functioning correctly except at idle. Even after I'd replaced the IAC, it...
  4. Better performing brake pads/rotors? '06 GC

    4th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2001-2007
Personal experience with brake pads. Original (1990's vintage) Performance Friction Carbon Metallic pads - great stuff. Loved them on my '91 SHO. Switched to EBC RedStuff after trying the latest PFCM pads and they didn't stop well. Current version PFCM - based on the old 'Z' pads, these are...
  5. Engine misfire after spark plug replacement

Did you use dielectric grease on the boots before you put them on the spark plugs? I usually put a very light coating of oil or grease on the spark plug threads too.

Levy, I apologize. I truly misinterpreted your sarcasm as taking me for a an anti-Monroe shrill. However, please read the original post. lawnpotter expressly noted " It is not harsh but a tiny bit bouncy". Later lawnpotter asked "Has anyone driven a Pontiac Montana or Mazda MPV ? Are they...

Manchester, GT area to Harrisburgh. Nice six hour drive there and back Day-trip. We swapped the injectors - the problem didn't follow them. You think I have problems with multiple injectors? TankII

I'm sorry I haven't given an update, but the G.C. made it to Harrisburg PA and back, only the rough idle to contend with. In the meantime I've been fixing up our rental house (five years of wear and tear) while working 60+ hours/week again. Nights/weekends are now overbooked... However, I was...

Just went through the suspension of our '07 in 2017 (not towing package). I replaced the rear factory shocks in 08 with Gabriel Gas Ryders (no longer available) and that took 95% of the bounce out. When I recently replaced the Monroe Sensatracs, I went with the Gabriel Ultras after a lousy...

@ ScuzziOne When I pulled the pan around 120k miles, I checked the seal, and it was still flexible. Even now, there is no valvetrain noise, though if it sits for a week you hear a slight rod knock at startup. Always Valvoline synthetic until this last oil change. At least now my wife is not...

Growling noise solved! going for a drive to see if P0301 comes back @tjhess74: I poked around with a machinist friend of mine (not a mechanic at all), and he spotted the serpentine belt wiggling. Turns out the noise was from the tensioner pulley, and the wiggle was due to a bent alternator...

Poking around on another forum came up with a dismaying diagnosis. As previously mentioned, camshaft wear is a known issue. However, another person found their P0306 issue was cam bearing material had lodged inside one lifter. To replace the lifters and cam requires pulling both heads, since the...

While I agree the newer systems are better at self-diagnostics, any good programmer will go over their work line-by-line. That's how this diagnostic works on my SHO, like a debugger/compiler. It target tests the components one at a time then spits out the results. Generic P0301 - Misfire...

That's how I got the P0301 code... The Ford KOKO routine: m.youtube.com/watch?v=nl2lqqS7vvE You jumper a port on the ODB to ground, then run key on exercises, start the car, turn the wheel quickly side-to-side, then let it idle while the computer shuts off components to test operations in...

Does anyone know if the equivalent to the Ford KOKO (key on key off) test is available for these cars? It is great on my '91 SHO to diagnose individual component failures.

Evap Purge Slenoid test results So, that was an interesting test, atoman. I disconnected the evap purge solenoid, fired it up and: Initially, the RPMs were higher than normal when 'cold' - 1200 RPM. Eventually, it dropped to 750, but instead of 'surging' every two seconds, it just ran...

The plugs have less than 10K miles on them, so to say some have a darker tan is saying they are slightly less white. I don't see signs of preignition on these plugs, and the pinging with 87 octane is gone with the new head. I just used dielectric grease on the main-to-injector harness connector...
