  1. 5th Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2008-2020
Hello, my town and country 3.8 has 175k and has had a small oil leak from the “upper” oil pan gasket. My question is what is that upper housing called? I am having trouble locating a gasket for that upper housing to block. The oil pan gasket (lower) is easy to locate. Thanks for your input.

Anyone seen the sprintex supercharger kit for the jeep wranglers with the 3.8 in them? Curious to see if that would fit on the 3.8 in the vans. I think it might be a tight fit, especially with the belt routing position being towards the cowl, but if it fit under the cowl it would be some serious...

2010 Dodge grand caravan 3.8L Sounds crazy but it does happen photos.app.goo.gl/yPTDXabXgUkaQkoHA (sorry for the terrible video but you can hear the change in airflow and see the hvac controls) It cycles from defrost to full hot and full cold. I had just replaced the window regulator and had...

Recently (like, yesterday) discovered that the previous owner of my T&C removed the passenger side parking brake and associated hardware. All that was left was the cable and the lever. Lever got caught in the wheel assembly somewhere and got smashed (and put a couple gouges in my rotor and the...

Hi Folks, So I picked up a 2001 Town and Country 3.8 a couple of months ago when on the same day my wife's expedition blew a motor and my Explorer lost the transmission. Van was running awesome until about a week ago when it started feeling like it was missing while sitting at stop lights, I...

So, I replaced the PCV valve. (a while ago I made post on method used to get the darn thing out of the valve cover without breaking anything) Now it is 1,000 miles later and it appears the oil use has not diminished. Approximately 3,000 miles = 1 quart of oil gone. This is the only vehicle I...

I'm looking in to replacing the lifters on my 2007 3.8 Grand Caravan. I searched for a "how to" but had no luck. Can I do it without replacing the heads? Can I get to them by removing the lower intake and valve covers? Thanks

Hi guys, this is my first post. As the title says, I have a 2003 Town and Country with the 3.8l V6 engine that is experiencing intermittent stalling while driving, coasting, or idling. There seems to be no pattern to the stalling either. Sometimes it will stall right away, or I can drive it...

I have a 2005 Town & Country with the 3.8L engine. It has 196000 miles on it. The engine runs smooth, and does not have any drive-ability issues. However, the cooling system loses about 2+ quarts of coolant every 400 miles. I do not see evidence of coolant in the engine oil. A mechanic pressure...

I have a 2005 Town and Country 3.8, I've been living with some hesitation on acceleration for a long time, especially when the relative humity is high outside, but no check engine light. EGR valve has been changed recently, but had no effect on the hesitation. I was considering changing the...

Evidently this is a somewhat common problem, that I don't recall being discussed here on the forum (maybe it has). About a month ago, I went to start the van and the ignition key wouldn't turn. I went inside and got a spare key and that one didn't work. I then tried a 3rd key and that didn't...

Just got the van back from the dealer, they told me it is showing sensor 1/2 as bad. But won't tell me which sensor it is, but for $150 they will replace it. The van has 145000 miles and was showing no service engine light when it went in, but now?? Thanks for any information.

I have a 2005 Town and country 3.8 Liter with 100,000 miles. I have always run synthetic oil and have developed a leak for the second time from the oil pan. The dealer replaced the oil pan gasket 2 years ago, (38,000 miles ago) and now it is leaking again. I had it in the dealer this week for...

Hi all- I'm working on replacing the O2 sensor and spark plugs on my 1996 Town & Country LXI 3.8. I've put the intake plenum back on and I'm nearly finished, but I'm stuck on the EGR valve and vacuum lines to the intake plenum. Here's a picture of what I started with: Here's what I have...

Happy Friday all! I was wondering if an air cabin filter is available for the 2008 T&C Touring 3.8L model. I was on mopar's site and it only stated there was an air cabin filter for the 3.3L model. Can someone please clarify? Thanks!

I have a 08 Town and Country Touring with the excellent 3.8, however I am having a problem with the rear passenger power door reversing by itself. If I don't shut it manually it can take up to 10 times to get it to close.

Hi, I just bought a new Chrysler Town and Country after trading in a 02 Montana (Constant Problems) I was looking at a Sienna but I had a 99 Caravan ES with 230000 Trouble Free miles on it when I got rid of it. (shoulda bought a new caravan but I was foolish). Anyway I stopped by my local...

So I've been wanting to do a transmission filter/fluid change in my 03 T&C 3.8L because the tranny seemed a little hesitation in shifting. So I did it last night and snapped some pics and I figured I'd share; I know this is a pretty simple DIY, but there were a few points that might be useful...
