  1. Steering feels loose

    5th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2008-2019
Hello everyone. I'll start with some background information. Changed the battery on my 2015 Chrysler T&C. Started to notice the steering felt off the next day. Dealer flushed the power steering fluid and said to bring it back to be checked in a couple weeks. After a few days I still felt the...
  2. Power Steering Fluid - Simple Question (Hopefully)

    3rd Generation Chrysler Minivans: 1996-2000
The power steering fluid in my 2000 Sport 3.3L is getting a little low. It doesn't have the dipstick on the cover and the visual level on the side of the reservoir was not clear. I inserted a small piece of clear tube, held the top of the tube and observed the level when it was retracted. It's...
  3. changed the power steering reservoir and suddenly almost no brakes

    4th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2001-2007
My husband changed the reservoir in our daughters 07 Town and Counrty, he doesn't know if he knocked something loose because she left for work this morning and had no brakes. Now, usually my husband does a test drive after all of his mechanic work but didn't do it last night. Is there some kind...
  4. Power Steering binds up/ locks up - 2001 Town and Country 3.8L

    4th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2001-2007
So every now and again my power steering locks up on me, the steering wheel gets real stiff, like I was trying to turn the wheel into a curb. It clears up in about a minute or so. It seems more prevalent when its raining but it has appeared on hot sunny days. So after poking around here I see...
  5. 2005 Grand Caravan 3.3 v6 power steering probable leak

    4th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2001-2007
The title describes it well. My 05 GC 3.3 v6 has been consuming a lot of power steering fluid and i'm guessing theres a leak somewhere but when I leave the car parked nothing leaks under the car. I would need help identifying where the leak could be. Thank you for your time everybody.
  6. Swap power rack and pinion --> manual rack and pinion

    1st Generation Chrysler Minivan: 1984-1990
Is the manual rack and pinion assembly a direct replacement for the power steering version? Should probably get rid of it now, less stuff to break later. Is it rack and pinion or recirculating balll? 88 Plymouth Voyager SE.
  7. Cold intermittent power steering issue

    4th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2001-2007
I'm experiencing an intermittent power steering issue on my 2003 Town and Country 3.8L with 189k miles. When it's cold out (guessing < 50 f or so), the power steering sometimes won't turn left. It's as if there is no power assist - it's like trying to turn the steering with the engine off...
  8. Power Steering Issues

    3rd Generation Chrysler Minivans: 1996-2000
I have a 2000 Chrysler Town & Country It had a power steering hose leaking so we fixed that and then realized we still had no power steering so we replaced the pump. In the process we put a hole in the supply line for the resevoir, so then we fixed that. Right after we replaced the pump it...
  9. $400 for Replacing Powering Steering Lines?

    3rd Generation Chrysler Minivans: 1996-2000
I took in my T&C 97 to an independent mechanic and was quoted about $400 for replacing both powering steering lines on the van. I was wondering if that sounds reasonable?
  10. Power Steering Rack & Pinion, Pump and Reservoir Replacement Tips

    4th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2001-2007
I have a 2005 Town & Country with the 3.3L engine. I found that both inner and outer tie rod ends needed replacement, and the rack was leaking, so I decided it was time to overhaul the whole steering system. I ordered a rebuilt rack & pinion (Fenco from Advance), rebuilt pump (also Fenco), new...

    3rd Generation Chrysler Minivans: 1996-2000
I need to replace my power steering pump on my 2000 T&C, 3.8L AWD. I have a limited window of time and would like any helpful tips the community can provide. Thanks!
  12. Power steering restrictor?

    4th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2001-2007
I just replaced the reservoir based on the recommendations on this forum. I hope it works as well for me as it did for everyone else. When I got done with the job I found a small restrictor tube in the waste can. It looks like it came out of the return line while I was purging the fluid...
  13. Vibration while turning steering wheel at standstill and slow speeds

    4th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2001-2007
I've been looking for a fix for this for a while, but the noise is getting worse. I have a 2005 Caravan SXT, and every time I turn the wheel at slow or no speed, there's a heavy vibration in the wheel, and, in fact, through the whole cabin. The car has 108,000 miles, and I was told about 50,000...

Any suggestions before I get started? It does not look like fun... Questions: 1. Do I really need...
  16. Power steering system failure....AGAIN!

    5th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2008-2019
I am within spitting distance of my lease being up and last night the van craps out on me! My wife was driving home and noticed a grinding sound coming from the front and increased effort to steer. She indicated that since it has been snowing all day maybe the snow packed up in the wheel wells...
