I have a 1997 plymouth voyager and was told I needed a new solenoid pack. Purchased one and now trying to bolt it in found that the middle bolt, there are three has lost its threads and will not tighten, what to do?
The casting could be stripped. In a pinch, I've taken the next sized up metric bolt and tapped new threads into a casting.

When you re-tap, keep the tool straight and do it by hand. Also tap slight longer than the original bolt, do not exceed the length. When re-tapping cut about 3 to 4 threads first, then back out, blow out the hole, re-align the tap back in and cut a few more threads at a time, repeat.

Sometimes, the next size up is tooooo big. You may need to look at an English size with similar thread pitch.

Some people will go with helicoils or a PEM Insert that presses in with a split in the barrel 1/4-way up. To do this right, there has to be enough material to drill out a larger sized hole and press those in to use the same original bolt.

I would not recommend JB weld nor the locktite that never comes off, just in case the reman coil pack fails in the future.
