Replacing Dr side axle shaft/CVs. Got old one out no prob. Can't seem to get new one into tranny all the way. Splines are aligned and it's part way in but I don't think it's in to the point of the circlip making. Any good tricks for driving it home? How do the pros do this? Help!

I know people say not to do this, but my axles have been in and out a few times and have no issues. I push the axle in by hand to take up all the slack then use a rubber mallet or my mini sledge hammer to tap it in past the retaining clip. Always does the trick for me.

I use the axle as a slide hammer. what I mean is that I hold the inner joint in with one hand then pull on the outer joint and slam it in. a couple cycles doing this and it snaps in. Using a soft face, shot filled, dead blow hammer is acceptable.
