Hi, I just bought a new Chrysler Town and Country after trading in a 02 Montana (Constant Problems) I was looking at a Sienna but I had a 99 Caravan ES with 230000 Trouble Free miles on it when I got rid of it. (shoulda bought a new caravan but I was foolish). Anyway I stopped by my local Chrysler Dealer and found a new Town and Country Touring with the 3.8 v6. I loved the power it provided. I walked out with the van the montana was history. I put 4000 Trouble free miles on it. One morning I started the van and it quit. I tried to start it but it wouldn't I took the key out and used the other one and it started right up. The passenger side rear sliding door keeps reversing itself. The 6spd trans is becoming a nightmare. I was coming from corry PA going to northeast and there was a really slow lady in a Buick Rendezvous in front of me. I was traveling over a steep stretch of hill and I had a passing zone with no cars coming. I pushed on the gas harder and the engine did not do anything so I "floored" it and there was a big JOLT and the engine went up to about 3500 rpm's and the van sped up to about 50 mph I pulled onto the lane to pass and the van just kinda stalled. It kept running but it lost all power... No warning lights were on so I just got it to the side of the rode slowly and put it in park and shut it off. I started it up and it ran just fine the rest of the trip. Today (20000) miles I was in erie PA on I 90 and traffic was terrible and I found myself in a game with an uplander. The uplander was driving about 50 mph and when I pulled into the left lane to pass they would speed up to the point where I had to be going over the speed limit so I just kept trying to pass. As I said the traffic was horrible so I really could not go that fast past him because of cars not to far ahead of me. I finally had enough and when there was room available I hit the gas and nothing happened then the 3.8 came to life and I finally got around the Uplander but now it is slamming into gears. I love my van but I don't know what is the problem with it.

You may also wish to invest in one or more online services that offer the same or more information. A good one that I have had experience with is AllDataDIY.com. **Please Note: Third-party manuals are not guaranteed to have all of the information you might need to complete a repair, so you may need to consult several different sources in order to get the knowledge necessary to complete the job.

Get back to us with what the dealer/tech has to say. But definitely take advantage of the warranty.
It's doing great!
I don't really know what they did but the transmisson shudder has gone, and the van really moves. Chrysler was great and gave no problems. I did have to put new brakes on it already but I took it to Michigan and was very pleased with how well the van did.

Unless they are under warranty,I wouldnt put Chrysler brake pads back on it.I have heard scary stories of 4-8K miles between changes.That should be in the scheduled maintenance chart at the same time as oil changes....
