2014 Dodge Caravan : Both rear left/right led blinkers go stationary when brake lights are on. (stop indicating)

Hi All,
Dodge Grand Caravan 2014 3.6 Canada made. US import driving now in the Netherlands

Rear led Indicators alone work without snags
rear led Indicators with lights on work without snags (intermitted normal-bright)
but when indicators are on and I'm braking, I see designated lights are no indication anymore. When I look closely I do see very faint millisecond interruptions in the blinker frequency. I mean that i see intermitted bright-bright

They should go on and off, still indicating when braking I believe?

Anyone who had same experience?
I am one of a few guys driving this kind s car in Holland, not much knowledge around you see..

Anyone has a diagram to share?

Any suggestions very much appreciated
Many thanks

Menno

If you see a change, they are probably getting the signal but the LEDs are fried. You can unbolt them and plug them to the other side to test them.

The normal operation is that the light comes on when braking, but if signalling, the light doing that will blink while the other stays on solid.

Sienile! Thanks for your reply, sadly I’ve got it on both sides left and right. Listening to your advise think buying a new unit would be wise? Did already the trick with contact cleaning with no result. As I have the car for couple of months, think bought it with this issue. Never been noted (mot) as all work fine seperately I suppose, cheers Menno

Thanks Senile!
Thanks for your advise and your file! its been some time but after long waiting time my new taillights arrived yesterday. Sadly both new lights do the same thing! Only when braking and indicating one solid light, but faint 1 millisecond spike interruptions (on 1 second blinker frequency )when look closely. yes all lights work seperately, but combination brakelight and turnsignal together, the brakelight overrules the turnsignal both sides.... checked all leads with multimeter ... is culprit the TiPM?

many thanks Menno

I'm not sure, but I think it might be one under the TIPM or just inside the cabin behind it. Check wire colors and locations to match it up.

Merry Christmas from Holland, Sienele!
New Tipm arrived out of California, fitted but sadly still same issue.
Is the PCM also involved in signal proces?
Bought now already new tail lights and a TiPM
when installing the new tipm I checked all connecters underneath it. all in shiny nice condition. Still didnt find connector C104 in photo above.
Anybody got a clue where i can find this connector?

Problem still is only when brake lights are on, the turn signal is overruled and not blinking anymore, only a very faint milisecond interuptions is seen if you look closely (in the frequency if the turn signal) left or right, and with warning lights both lights do it.

many thanks for your efforts
