Help! We are at a loss. My husband and I were driving and our T&C lost acceleration and power steering while traveling at around 40mph. We made it to the shoulder and the engine completely died. No check engine light came on at all. When trying to restart, it struggled to turn over but failed to start. While waiting for the tow truck, we tried it again and it started. We were too worried to drive it home so we had it towed to the mechanic.
They couldn't find anything wrong with it at all. It fired right up, and drove perfectly. The check engine light was not on so there weren't any codes they could read.
It's extremely stressful since we live in a rural area and drive up and down dirt roads that don't always have cell service. The alternator tests out fine and everything electronic works just fine. We drove it today with no issues but I've heard some vans are plagued with this issue.
Any advice on what it could be and how it would get diagnosed? I fear we could end up spending $$$ and end up with the issue.
