I guess when spring and summer gets here we can compare transmission fluid temperatures. I do not usually have stop n go traffic except one afternoon a week and I have not ran the SG3 on that route yet. On my normal route home I have only seen 145* so far, and that is after 35 miles. So observation:
at 75mph steady state trans sits at 140F
In stop and go traffic with 30-50mph speeds it holds about 160, I suspect on a hot summer day with AC on and residual heat from the road the trans will easily exceed 180-190F

I imagine by the time you take the measurement, the temperature will drop quite a bit with the fans running full blast and the cooler doing its job.I guess when spring and summer gets here we can compare transmission fluid temperatures. It was in the 30's F last weekend in Central Illinois. I took a two hour one way trip, mostly flat terrain, driving at ~60mph. My trans temps ranged mostly between 121 - 127 F.I watch my trans temp every day, I got 60mi commute to work, when its 50F out it gets up to 150F, however when the outside temp is say 32F, the trans seems to hover around 125F. In the hot summer days I have seen it get up to 170-180 range. But 15mi drive barely gets it to 100F so I think it needs a solid 30min of driving to reach 120.
Never was, now is.Are stickies hiding from me again, or was this never stickied? As common as the question of how to check the fluid pops up, seems it should be.
