Hood Automotive lighting Automotive tire Grille Bumper

We bought this 2012 T&C Touring used. Other than the previous owner using the wrong size brakes it was great. (Told everyone about learning it on this forum.) I just noticed this thing attached to the windshield. No idea what it is. Prefer not to press the button. It might be like an MIB transformational gadget. :)

It looks like an antenna for an aftermarket remote start.

That or an aftermarket alarm. Whatever it is, if you don't have a remote for it, it's garbage now.

That might not be entirely the case. If you are able to get some numbers from it, a site like:
might be able to find remotes that can be programmed to it, or suggest a replacement ant and remotes
to replace that piece to work with whatever module is there if it is still operational.

Just a thought.

Antenna for alarm or remote start or both. The button is for programming the system. Did the keys have a remote attached? Look for stickers under the hood indicating that it has a remote start, look for a push style door pin under the bonnet. If the van starts and locks up ok, don't worry about it.

If you want to know what it is and to use it, go to an experienced alarm shop, they will figure it out and they can program remotes to it and make it operational again.
