Other than a dodge 4x4 with a Cummins diesel, I'm looking for something to tow a camper weighing 5000 to 7500 lbs, a 4x4 truck with 4 doors, not sure if any v6 could do it, not sure if a dakota with a v8 could either due to being light truck, looking for the best set up( best motor, transmission type, (manual or automatic) should I be looking at only full size Dodge rams or maybe a Durango. I'm guessing a lower geared front and rear differential would be best for towing. Would appreciate any advice starting to look for something soon. Looking for used, 2012 or older, anything I should stay away from.

You’d be surprised just how good the 3.6L V6 is in a RAM. My 86 Dodge only had 185 HP and the 3.6 is 300 HP. Tourque may be the issue.

most dedicated RV owners I know use gas powered 3/4 tons. The diesels aren’t worth the hassle.
