Hello I think i've read most of the site LOL . Its an addiction.

I've got a 2004 T&C Touring model. about 146,000 miles.

I have been using chrome tape on the chrome strips that are on both sides of the van to cover up the worn out part.Looks good for about 6 months and then need to do it again.
Anyone have a better idea? Can i just replace the trim pieces? I can't find them online.

Also my auto lock just stopped working. Locks fine otherwise. What could have gone wrong? I love that feature.

I just ordered a chrome billet for my grill Hope it looks Good and doesn't cover the emblem anyone else have one on there van.

Autolocking: I'd first try a computer reset (disconnect battery ground cable, touch red & black leads together for a few seconds, re-connect after 30 minutes).

Then, Refer to this STICKY and try re-programming http://forum.chryslerminivan.net/showthread.php/5009-Owner-programmable-Features

+++++++++

Are the chrome pieces you refer to part of the 'belt molding' (door ding guards, halfway up)? If so, yeah, that's a 'replace'. Look for them at an online Chrysler dealer (one I use is http://moparpartsoverstock.com/ ) or ask a body shop, they are used to looking up factory part numbers and may have sources for aftermarket stuff.

On our '02 van, the original pieces are silver foil UNDERNEATH a clear plastic covering. A plastic polish might bring the luster up.

There are SO many varieties of trim on these vans...:bcyclop:

Just a thought: Perhaps a coating of Plasti-Dip on the silver trims would hold up. I'm thinking of a complementary color, not silver.

Look at my avatar picture, but picture the silver door trim in a dark red....
