I am not going to complain about the 3.8l. 500k between two of them with no internal work.

I’ve lost 3 of them all under 100k. 1 launched bearings at 78k after sitting for a week. 1 launched a rod at 98k getting on the interstate. 1 broke the rocker pedestal and destroyed a head at 88k.

They’re fine cruiser engines, but once you start pushing them they’re trash.

I don't really push them. We cruise down the highway. Pretty much anything we need to get is a 30 mile round trip. I leave them stock and change the oil.

Abuse.
They were ran hard, 2 of them were in my Off Road Voyager. The other was in my Sport Wagon that got AutoX’d.

That would probably do it. At least you were having fun with them.
