Coolant in Cylinder?

I would suspect a head gasket... Try checking the rear plugs, just to know if you need to replace the other cylinder bank head gaskets as well.

However a common problem with the caravan is the water pump inlet hose rusting. It is located right behind the splash guard on the passenger side of the engine. I wouldn't be surprised if thats leaking.

It looks like this: http://www.google.ca/imgres?imgurl=...cid=OBzLfJWkGg99yM&hl=en&sa=X&ei=BrIRUfG0LYWryQH44ICYAg&ved=0CC4Q9QEwAA&dur=852

Rockauto sells it for a bit more than $20. I would check that before i look into head gaskets.

I got the combustion leak detector and tried it today. It uses vacuum to draw radiator fumes through a blue liquid that turns green/yellow if it exhaust gas is detected. It did. I definitely have some engine work to do.

To narrow things down, I disconnected the #2 plug and tested again. The liquid still turned green so either the leak isn't coming from #2 or it's coming from #2 and from another cylinder, also.

In the meantime, I took a spare radiator cap and cut the spring, lowering (but no eliminating) the pressure in the cooling system. I seem to be having less coolant loss and less misfire when starting now.

Did you check cylinder 3? the gasket may be damaged between cylinder 1 and 2.
