Hi,

I've recently started getting email notifications of individual postings instead of the once a day digest notification. I'm not sure what changed nor how to go back to the digest mode.

Can someone point me to the where this setting is found?

Thanks,
Bob

Yes, that's what I thought. However, I don't see any option box to check to only receive a single daily digest email. Can you point me to it specifically?

The new Xenforo software doesn't support a Daily Digest, I miss it too.

Instead of seeing various posts in a single email, you get ALERTS that you can browse through for all your subscribed sub-forums (but they are not categorized).

Thanks Atwell, for the clarification. The problem I'm having is that I can't see the subject of the posting until I open the email. Lots of extra clicking each morning.

How is everyone dealing with this?

I installed new batteries in my wireless mouse. <<<SIGH>>>

But seriously, the emails we get for EACH POST show the first few lines of the posting. Isn't that enough to decide if you want to go to the forum to see the whole thing or not?

No. I only see "xxx posted a new discussion at "5th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2008-2019" in the subject line.

Here is the notification format I get via email. I'm on a Win10 computer using Thunderbird mail client, if it matters.

I believe it will contain new and popular threads.
Realize, that isn't the same as what many folks want. They are just interested in posts for the categories THEY are subscribed to.

Viewing the ALERTS link does show replies, mentions, and new discussions for sub-forums someone is subscribed to. But the number of posts can be lengthy, which was why the Digest under the old software was helpful.

Thank you Atwell, for restating my request more clearly.

just to further clarify you mean the email digests the vB software provided?
-Philip
I'm not sure what vB software is. If that was the software previously used before the latest change then yes.

It used to have the title, "5th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2008-2019" update" and the body of the email looked like this (this is the only forum I'm subscribed to):

Dear bobbyt,

You are subscribed to the forum 5th. Generation Chrysler Minivans: 2008-2019, there have been 3 new thread(s) and 5 updated thread(s).

The only notification emails I need (and I get) is when someone send a PM. so I can answer timely.

Everything else is not needed (on my books).

It looks like with the new software I'll be better off not relying on the email notifications for threads that interest me but rather logging into the forum to see what is new.

Thanks to all of the admins for all of the work you put into this site!
