Early symptoms of failure? 62TE

Transmission shudders in reverse, seems to slip through 3rd into 4th gear unless I go heavy on accelerator into shift, then it holds.
Banged hard into drive last week, then drove normally.
No codes at dealer (or on self scan/dash), total filter & fluid change.
Endurance supreme coverage on any mechanical failures etc. I know it excludes some tranny parts.
Driven 3k since purchase. Today went nowhere after shifting into drive after long idling in park. Turned off van, restarted, all was fine.
Any input is helpful. Temp runs around 185 coolant & oil, I think. Will check again.

**2hr + driving, all highway today. 1st time on a good stretch.
Coolant- Added ~1-1.5qt coolant prior. Prob 3k since last check 😑 hope it was low then and I just missed it. No likey missing fluid.
Trans fluid. Tried twisting quarter-sized cap n it wouldn't budge. Gotta get that level checked. An I'll look into cvi thoughts. Ty

Anyway:
•23-24mpg @ 75mph (seafoam last tank, after I dropped to 13city mpg)
•Coolant temp = 204-208F steady (212 before tunnels, 15min of stop n go)
•Oil temp = 194-198 steady

Like driving a starched tube sock at speed 🤣🤣 but she rode like a champ!
-Coolant was 212-214 steady 2 days ago around town.
-Oil coincided @ 204-208

Temps seem lower today.
I'm wondering if 214 / 208 is too high.

The comment about low mass engine & quick temp change made sense. Still, don't like too hot myself, whatever temp that may be.

Internet seems difficult to find appropriate charts, etc.
Info here is golden.
Those temps are pretty standard.

Thermostat opens at 203°.
Low speed fan kicks in at 215°.
Switches to high speed at 225°.
Your 214/208 is fine.
Reassuring to hear that, for certain.
Thanks guys.

Saturday is new plug day.

Transmission tube plug = a quarter turn ccw and pull up.
If hard to get at (like mine) or stuck, use a rag for better grip, or vice grips, to loosen.
