If you have a 4.0 in your 2008, then highly unlikely, regardless of which older engine you are considering.
If you have either the 3.3 or the 3.8 in your 2008, then the motor from 1999 and 2000 will not connect up to everything without some major modifications. The unit from the 2001 and 2002 vans can be made to fit, but you still need to alter a number of items. Your best bet would be to find an engine from an early Gen 5 van and swap that in.
