Hello I'm new here

Hi I have a 2014 Town and Country and we have just recently been noticing a problem where the heater/ac turns on by itself. I have even gone through and made sure it was NOT on auto. Now I know my husband just changed the cabin air filter and he noticed that behind it that the flap door was broken and some black little hinge broke off .I am not sure if this could have anything to do with it.... we have also been learning to do most of all our repairs our selves thanks to all the awesome people out there who post videos on youtube. Were just not to fimilare with the names of all the parts ... If anyone is willing to point us in the right direction it would be so very greatly appreciated.... Thanks again
