Hi everyone,

I am new to the forums and just purchased my first Chrysler and first minivan. It is a 2016 Town & Country Limited Platinum. It has 44k miles and was a 1 owner van. I will be flying to Las Vegas to pick it up on Sunday.

I have been reading everything on this forum as I researched which vehicle to get. I think I found one that is going to last me a while. I can't wait for the 1300 mile drive home.

Thanks,
Susan

That should be the top of the line with all available options. I can't wait to see more pictures.

One thing to note check that the BLIS system works, the radars are in the rear bumper behind the wheels and often they get water spray from the tires and they tend to fail. The cluster will say BLIS System Off if they are not working. Now if they do work, I would suggest removing them and seal the case with silicone as good as you can, you can even try to install some sort of water barrier over the units once they are clipped in place. This should keep them dry and working. If they fail, they cost north of 300$ per side. That's why I haven't fixed mine.

Also check to see if you have a spare tire, they became optional in the later T&C years. I guess if you have the tool kit you probably have a spare tire also. Good to have just in case.

Also with the engine running clean the engine dip stick off and stick it in the trans fill tube and it should record about 10mm from the bottom with warm engine, if you are off from that I would suggest add a little bit of fluid until you are at that 10mm mark.

The other thing you can do is buy a can of sea foam and throw it in the fuel tank, on your trip you should go through 203 tanks of fuel so that would be a nice way to clean up the system.

Enjoy the trip.

I personally wouldn't recommend sealing the sensors, but haven't driven them enough to see any problems. I have spare sensors if you want them.

Hi! Also new to the forum. Does that engine dip stick in the trans work on a 2008 4.0L as well? Thanks Dale

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I made it home safe and sound with no issues on my trip. I averaged 27mpg for the trip home, I was quite impressed. Super comfy ride too. I will add more pictures once the rain clears up.

Everything is working as expected except the rain sensing wipers. I am not sure if it is the sensor or if the wax/rainX the dealer put on the windshield. The rain beads up and runs off but I am not sure what they applied. If there is a problem with the sensor does it give you a warning on the dash?

Thanks,
Susan

Glad your trip went well, 27mpg is perfectly about on par with what most have seen with steady-state highway cruising.

As for the wipers on mine, they also don't work, the sensor could be to blame but when I do use it, the wipers never react to the amount of wiping needed, they go fast then they slow down, totally annoying and so I have mine disabled, the system selection works much better with the amount of rain on the windshield and you get to control that.
