Just an FYI, if people haven't already noticed...I didn't.

There are new updates online at http://www.mofv.com/mygig.

It seems to have the updated Gracenotes from 881 to 1120 now as well as updated RER and REN software versions.

I'm going to update my system tonight.

I updated both last night. I did not notice any specific "upgrades" or enhanced compatibility in the mygig now that it has the reflash.

I was just glad that the Gracenotes was updated. Now I can actually get the data display to read out all my Trent Yawni and Zamfir (the Pan flute player) albums...:jump3:

Yes, like usual. I saved it to my desktop and extracted the RAR there.

The dealers are probably (and have already) only been getting the software from about 2 updates ago. This software will probably not hit the dealers for some time.

It is real simple to update.

Interesting, then. I just figured with the recall notice on the myGig that came out a few months back (with an already outdated software version) that maybe the dealers had the same probs. I stand corrected then.

jeepgrady, which version did the dealer update to?

9.807 is the latest on http://mofv.com/mygig/ so if the dealer installed that one it is probably because they are smart enough to hunt down the latest. If they did, you should be glad you have a good dealer :thumb:

I doubt that the official "newest version" from Chrysler is the 9.807 unless they've changed what they have done in the past. Most dealers will only use the Chrysler update and tell you that it is the newest one, actually meaning that it is the newest officially approved Chrysler update.

Thanks Gumby....I just had my car in a month or so ago for a mygig update, they must not have updated gracenotes, I noticed that my daughter's high school musical 2 cd was not recognized, since this CD is 1 to 1.5 years old, they must be using a really old version.

Well I guess you specifically have to ask your dealer to perform the gracenotes update in addition to them doing the MyGig update, I just put in the dvd I made from the link Gumby provided, when I put in in my system it said update from 534? So that's why it did not know the name from a 1.5 year old cd....

Not all dealers will "know" about the most recent software updates, I guess. I am sure most will, but there is always that 1 or 2 guys that just don't care...

I guess, but since they sent all owners a notice about MyGig and a DVD, and told them to go in.... oh well, I was just surprised how old the gracenotes was on my sstem that was updated....since your post said 881 to 1120.

My wife was going in this week to have the chip that was ordered in August put in this week, I was going to write her a note on the Gracenotes update. So this post saved me a headache. Engine light has been on since we got the car in June.. two trips and an ordered part... the light went out a week ago, probably burnt out... I dont think the MTTF on an engine light is more than a few hours, since it should not really be used that much

She was also going in for 4500km oil change, ya right, found the reset for that ... The manual says 10,000 k (or 6months), that is when it going in...

Thanks,
Andrew

ps: typically how often are the gracenotes updates done, or available via that site?

I don't want to even tell you the long list of issues my van has. As for the Gracenotes, I mentioned in my first post that it was from 881 to 1120. But I guess I didn't realize that some people had not updated (or it wasn't done either from the dealer or the factory)from the previous....update. So yeah, you would be taking a huge leap of info there!!

I was getting the oil change light come on every 4500 kms or so, I did go in to get it done as it was free for me. I also live in a very cold climate and would remote start the crap out of the vehicle. So I can understand why maybe it would require frequent oil changes (idling etc).

Weird about that Check engine light, eh?

FYI:

I understand that the Gracenotes is now on v.1287 and the Mygig is now on v.1.220 (for the RER coded Mygig).

Crazy. I have not been on this forum since November. Yesterday I googled "mygig gracenotes" because a recent CD did not show song titles, and came up with this link. Went to the mofv.com site and saw that there was a recent update to the db. Then this evening I get a thread notification email about your post about the recent update.... the timing is quite a coincidence

I replaced both the Gracenotes and the Mygig software last night, no problems thusfar. Everything went smooth.
