Got a 2002 T&C 3.3L , 4spd AT. Got a P1698 code. Here is what I have done so far after reading all the posts :
Checked continuity TCm to PCM to DLC , all OK
Got grounds on TCM terminals 53 & 57
Got 12Volts on pin 56 , but no 12V on pins 8 & 11 .
Transmission remains in limp mode .

When I turn the van on , PRNDL lights are are boxed and lhighlighted.
The AC fan comes on every time crank on high speed .
When I probe pin 8 with the test light , the AC fan goes out !!
I don't know if it is related , but SRS light is on .
I tried another TCM before doing the tests and same thing .
I am led to IPM by looking at wiring diagrams but not really sure . Also did not know any continuity tests from TCM to BCM . Got 4 connectors on BCM .
all fuses and grounds , double, triple checked, connections all OK , Alternator at 13.85 Volts . Any help is greatly appreciated

On 3d gen., P1698 is often a symptom of the "cracked solder joints in the cluster" problem, but 4th gen. is not known to be affected by it. Did you try the self-test on the cluster?

Yes ,forgot to mention . I tried re-soldering all cold solder joints,then swapped out the cluster with another one . No change . I still think i have to get voltage to pins 8 & 11 on the TCM somehow .

Try to disconnect the battery the whole night then reconnect in morning. Maybe it i'll fix problem.

Left battery disconnected for 2 weeks . Did not change a thing !
