Again, I am sorry, but I don't know how to edit posts. Buh. Anyway, found the post with the bulletin, but as I have gotten some serious push back and extremely rude treatment in this process, I was leery of using someone's copy and paste as proof. But I did a little research and found a link to the actual bulletin that was released about it!

Fingers crossed this will help somewhat. We are still out the repair money currently, but maybe we can get reimbursed, and at the very least, someone else who hasn't run into this yet due to low mielage so far (that's why we were late to the party!) can use this to their advantage to get some help.

Thanks all, will update with any progress!

I am so sorry to ask this, but I checked that post (185) the one with the check image - do you know where the information is posted about being manufactured before 1/20/2014 is? I am having a hard time finding it through the 200+ posts. I am still looking. Just found my mfr date, and it's August 2013. They are fixing it currently at the dealer, was supposed to be done on Friday, but we heard nothing from them Friday or Saturday, even after a few messages were left. Very frustrating ordeal, especially since everything points to the fact that this should have been covered.

Thank you, though! And I will keep looking!
That info is posted in many post. Mine was covered under the Powertrain Warranty. I read every post in this topic until I found what I needed to know. The 2014 is suppose to have a 5 Year/100,000 Mile Powertrain coverage. And it included a Free Rental.

You can read the same thing here.

Check post #132 and click on "Chrysler Cares" another option if you aren't having success with the dealer. My dealer completed the repair with no questions, free of charge last summer. That's how they all should be up until the 5 year deadline later this year...

Yeah, I read all of that, and my dealer legit didn't care. I even mentioned the service bulletin (had a copy with me) and he said he knew, and said "This isn't my first one of these I've fixed." So I pressed, and said "So, it's a known issue." ANd he basically shrugged and said yes, and that it isn't specifically listed as a covered part. And 'maybe Chrysler will give you a refund or something'. So, I've paid and gotten my vehicle back (also, he said 'we went ahead and gave you an oil change as well' - and I thought - YES, because the faulty component spewed all of my engine oil all over my engine bay. Don't act like you were doing me a favor!) and all seems well so far, just sad that I am out the money.

Fingers crossed ChryslerCares can help me out a bit ...

Thanks guys, and so glad you all got it covered! It seems to be a dealer by dealer issue. Ugh.

Could it be how you worded it when you asked for the repair?

Oh! I hope I didn't convey that this was how I spoke to them on initial diagnosis. That was a wholly different tone. I was very polite, and tried to be firm, letting them know that this should be covered under the powertrain - everything that I mentioned above was simply when I went to pick up the vehicle, and I was met with only more apathy. And even at that, I was still polite. I, unfortunately, am not very good at being rude or playing hardball or what have you ... But when I first had it diagnosed, I definitely mentioned that it should be covered under warranty, and he gave me his Lombard from Office Space routine.

:)
Thank you!

Oil filter housing

I noticed a puddle of oil in my driveway this morning after warming up my 2014 T & C, I moved it to a dry spot in the driveway and in a few minutes there was numerous spots.
I took it to the service center & was told they wouldn't be able to look at it today, then I showed them the pictures of my driveway. No problem we can't let you leave with the
oil leaking like that. About 5 hours later it was fixed under the Powertrain warranty. They replaced the oil filter housing, I asked what caused this and was told it is a common problem.
Go back 3 months I brought the van in for an oil change and to have them see why the engine was getting so loud. They told me it was a good thing I brought it in when I did
the cams and lifters were bad, brought it home and had oil leaking in the driveway, that was a gasket that wasn't put on proper. Again it was covered by the Powertrain warranty
The only thing I can't get them to figure out is....The compressor went out in the air conditioning, the van makes a 'growling' noise, they have heard it in the service area but it doesn't
make the noise long enough to pin point what it is, everyone else hears it, especially sitting at a stop light and it starts with the noise.
I bought the van used from the dealership in 2016, the air conditioning problem was noticed 3 months after I bought the van. I was told it could cost $1200 for the air to be fixed, told them
I'm not happy with my purchase, they covered it. I've been very happy with the dealership but am thinking I will have to get rid of the van before the powertrain warranty expires.

Quick update:
Got the van back from the dealership on Friday the 2nd. Friday the 9th, I drove it to work (as I do every M-F) and when I went to drive it home it wouldn't start. I tried again, as I have never had an issue with it starting (even in the midst of the oil cooler issue) and it started briefly, then died. I got out and onto the ground, and there is a fresh puddle underneath that a finger swipe came away completely black from. As I stood, I could smell fuel. I kinda broke down, as this has been an ordeal from the beginning. Luckily, I had a stream of coworkers leaving work, and one coworker's husband took off the cover inside of the engine, and when he pulled it away, the foam part compressed under his grip and fuel literally ran down his arm. The entire underside of it was wholly saturated with fuel. As was the foam on the left side of the engine compartment. He asked me to briefly try to start it, and got sprayed directly in the face with fuel.

The good news is, it looks like they didn't put the fuel clip back on well, or perhaps broke the part that holds it together when they fixed the oil cooler. I went ahead and had it towed in, and this time, at least, they gave me a rental.

This has been an atrocious experience for a first time new car buyer. I am just so disappointed.

Thanks for listening.

Thank you all for posting this issue. I have a 2014 Ram 1500 with this engine and have a major oil leak after a recent oil change. Another issue I have is I have a lot of tiny strips of black plastic that got caught in the funnel as I was transferring my old oil into portable containers. There was just enough to get balled up together to get stuck but I have found more when I filtered the oil through a paper towel.
I sent a PM to Chrysler Cares last night as suggested by one of the other posters so hopefully they can help get this resolved but does anyone who was successful in getting this covered under their Powertrain Warranty have a number or contact person to call just in case? Thank you again and even though my vehicle is different I found this thread very helpful.

I guess you can add me to the list too, but my '14 DGC was way past any chance of warranty. Happened about 4000km after the last oil change as well, which was odd. My wife drove it out of the garage, and I saw a nice pool of oil where the van was. Replaced the housing, and to be thorough, intake gasket (more like a fancy o-ring) & plugs while everything was apart. Boy, I should have replaced those plugs at 100,000 km - At between 120-130, they were really worn... It's almost 5,000 km since I fixed it, with no new leaks yet.

Sorry I have not been back to update. Chrysler came through! I was sent a check to cover the price of the repair, thank goodness. After the debacle at the dealership, I was not in a very happy place with anything Chrysler related. So Chrysler Cares really helped, thankfully. It is a shame that the dealership had such a poor customer interaction from beginning to end. I am not against purchasing another Dodge/Chrysler in the future, but I will never go back to that dealer again in my life.

Thanks all, and good luck!

Oil Leak!!

Recently bought used 2014 C T&C. Changed the oil one week ago for first time and was careful not to over tighten filter cap. Today, over a week later, I smell the hot oil and my oil light and check engine light come on. Just getting into the issue now, but I'm guessing the oil filter adapter is cracked. Hope that I don't come to regret buying this van.
