I would bet that they opened up filter housing before oil was totally drained and made a mess. Just re check the oil level often, and look for large pooling of oil in the valley where oil cooler/filter is, you can check with a dowel or equivalent as stated in the TSB earlier in this thread.

I checked the oil while sitting on my slightly inclined driveway, and it was at the low end of the 'safe' mark. I checked it again later on a level surface and it appeared a little higher. Best I could do as far as using a dowel was a McDonald's straw. I could see much if any oil on it after poking around the filter housing. I saw way more oil on the opposite end of the engine and underneath more towards the driver side. Here's what my driveway currently looks like.

So you cant see any oil below the filter housing sitting in the valley underneath it? Its easily visible with a flashlight held at the right angle.

If you can take some engine bay pics that would be helpful. The oil on the drivers side has me curious...

I wasn't able to last night, but I also was using a sub-par flashlight that needs new batteries. I'll take my Mag lite out tonight and check. I'll get a couple pics after I get home tonight.

I know you explained why you brought it in for the oil change, but like others have said, if you want it done right, you have to do it yourself. I would bring it back and tell them your driveway wasn't a mess until they touched it.

And that's why they're picking it up tomorrow morning. I emailed the service advisor the picture of my driveway the same night I noticed it.

I took a closer look again tonight and did see some older oil down by the housing. Couldn't get a decent picture of it tho. Couple pics of wet oil on the other end of the engine to follow.

Very center of pic is a small accumulation of oil but there's a light film of it all over.

This is actually a shot of a oily spot near the filter.

I cant explain the first pic of the oil on the driverside...?

The oil in the second pic is classic spillage from the filter cap when removing it from the filter housing. There is a small amount of oil still left inside the cap when its removed, the lube tech did not rotate the cap/filter up fast enough and it spilled out and onto the engine bay. That being said, still doesn't explain the oil on the driveway...

I figured the little bit of oil around the filter is left over from removal, but yeah, no idea where it's coming from on the other side and getting to the driveway. Hopefully, I'll know by the end of the day. They picked it up about 8:30 and left me a '17 loaner.....it's got leather, I won't want to give it back.

Well, she's on her way back to me. They couldn't see that it was leaking anywhere, and thought it looked as thought the housing has already been replaced. They believe the mess to be from residual left over in the valley from when the housing was replaced, or maybe spillage during the change. Regardless, they've cleaned it up and have taken very good care of me all things considered.

Great to hear! I would throw down a big piece of cardboard (if you have some laying around) to verify for sure.
I do have some, but it's been windy as **** here the last few days. I'd need to grab the piece that I could drive on to so that it would stay put.

So I spoke too soon. Enjoy the pictures of what I found after getting home from church yesterday.

There's oil all over the bell housing again, and I can see standing oil in the same area on that side again as well as under the filter housing. When I checked the oil cold, it was about 3/8 of and inch below the "safe" zone.

I'm currently waiting to hear back from the dealer on what they're going to do.

That's crazy! Shes been leaking for 12+ days now since they've had the van! I hope you have good news after you speak to the dealer. :thumb:
They picked it up this morning to get it figured out. They left me a '17 GC GT for a loaner. It's swanky, but how the **** does a decked out GT not have adjustable pedals? Or have those gone away across the board on GCs?

And the filter housing it is! They just let me know that it was indeed the filter housing, and they're replacing it. I should have my van back yet this afternoon. Yes, it sucks that I even had to go thru this whole mess, but I commend them for handling it the way they did and getting it handled.
