How big of a pain is it to remove the entire rear auto lift gate? Need to swap ours out, got smacked.

May have to swap out the liftgate wiring harness for your old one. I read of a member having problems after swapping the liftgate because of the wiring change after a certain year.

As long as you have good strong helpers, you shouldn't have a problem. Save the power lift linkages from the donor just in case.
IIRC, the connectors for the gate are readily accessible by pulling the top trim down from the opening - cut the mating side from the donor and carefully pry out the wiring 'boots'.

When you go to pick the gate, take a close look at the defogger grid - it's often damaged from loose cargo shifting around in the back.
