Okay, has your system been leak tested? Has dye been injected? Do you have front and rear controls, meaning front and rear system? Has the vehicle been wrecked? What makes you think the system is not functioning correctly? Why do you think your compressor has failed? Where is the AC compressor leaking refrigerant?

Good answers. If the compressor is not "rattling", that is usually a good sign the compressor hasn't failed and sent aluminum through the system. If it rattles at all, that is not good. Compressor should be quiet and no noise.

Sounds like you did a great job on your previous repair on the other vehicle, so you will be fine with this also. Senile gives great advice - see if you can spot any debris in your lines (mostly leading to the condenser from the compressor) with the white cloth test. If only refrigerant or dye, you should be good to go.

Also, since the compressor gasket is the source of your leak, and it sounds like you caught it in time, it seems you should be okay.

Please let us know what you find out.
