My ongoing electrical saga here: http://forum.chryslerminivan.net/showthread.php/61370-Is-my-failed-instrument-cluster-likely-its-soldier-joints-or-the-BCM

Currently, I'm at an estimate of $750 for a remanufactured BCM, probably not including labor.

The mechanic working on it said he'd look for a used one, but hasn't called back.

This eBay service is offering to rebuild mine for $140: http://www.ebay.com/itm/95-00-Dodge-Caravan-Body-Control-Module-BCM-REPAIR-RETURN-SERVICE-/221552656789?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3395914195&vxp=mtr

Since it's mine, that means no reprogramming! Yea!

Could anyone recommend trying this or not?

Thanks!

Still working on it - a little less than 3 hours Saturday removing the bcm (being careful as a non-mechanic). I'll post an update either way when I re-install it.

If everything is good it should work right away I think. I'm interested in knowing how good SIA is, I have to get a PCM and I'm leaning towards SOLO (also in EBAY) but your experience might get me to re-think about it.
