2003 grand car, 3.8 auto recently started having trouble starting, both while cold and hot. engine has to turn over for a long time before it slowly starts sputtering then starts. pumping the gas seems to flood the engine and extend out the time it takes to start. i would try starting fluid but where is the open air intake? problem started after filling the tank full, before that it rarely had more t.han 1/2 a tank. no service lights on.

Possible water in the new fuel you just put in.

Pumping the gas pedal does nothing for today's fuel injected/ECU controlled cars.

The throttle body (which is always worth cleaning especially if your van has EGR) is on top of the engine, just behind the forward cylinders.

try some fresh fuel and a 30 minute drive. If a CEL appears post back. Might be related to the EVAP system, might not.

Have you checked the plugs, the fuel injector harness and coil packs and wires?

May be the infamous tank over-fill (EVAP filling with gas) issue... see this thread (and the threads it refers to):
