Hi all,

I have a 2000 Dodge Caravan with 2.4L engine and 3 speed automatic transmission.

Recently it has started to not down shift when you come to a stop.

You can manually down shift and it will down shift under hard acceleration.

There are no codes being thrown and no pending codes.

Any idea where to start looking???

It has about 150K on it.

Thank you!

May be a sticky governor. The bands could be potentially be out of adjustment.

That is a hydraulically controlled transmission, so there is no TCM to monitor for any faults.

Wait.. 2000 caravan with the 3 speed? really? Pictures?
Per Wikipedia, the A413 transmission was used in minivans as late as 2007. That said, I don't believe I've ever seen a Gen 4 (2001-2007) van with that transmission.

I agree with cheezeit, change governor sensor, adjust bands and change fluid and filter.
Sounds just like the issues jeep automatic trans develop, My 95 JGC did the same and changing sensors fixed.
The parts are ready available on rockauto.com.
