Ok! Finally go to finish up fixing my 2005 T&C 3.3L - Turns out sometimes overlooking the most simple things, fix it first. After replacing the PCM and FCM, I found out it was in fact the passenger side sliding door wire harness that rides in the track on bottom of the door. The harness had been broken, smashed, and and severed. Door got shut on the wiring harness and ruined the wires. Unplugged the harness from the base of the seat belt pillar on the passenger side, and tried the key in the van...PERFECT! IT WORKED!! Key fob came back online, CD player, DVD player, Dash cluster....ALL came back online. The van works like a dream and we now have a great van that we bought for $200 US dollars plus the cost on one computer setup (not actually needed) for $140.00. A very worthwhile purchase at $340.00 for a van in great shape. (Van was sold to us for scrap because it would not work).

Bottom line, the simple thing to fix the van was that wiring harness for the door. It is amazing just how much of the van the door's wiring harness disabled! The van was essentially DOA. For $5.39 for the harness from our local salvage, we scored big!

From the Show Me State

Hello, new friends! I'm new to the forum and have recently acquired a 2006 Town and Country 3.8L with approx 128k miles. I'm already having some problems like an exhaust rattle, A/C that stopped cooling and a really strange "growl" that comes from the engine every time I shut it off. I downgraded from a 2014 T&C in an effort to save some money. We miss the '14 and working our way toward excitement with the '06. Our 3 kids don't know the difference but we sure do. Thanks for letting us join the group!

Welcome to the Forum and hopefully your problems with the 2006 will get resolved soon enough. Is the growl maybe related to the A/C compressor/clutch?

Hi all, pretty much joining this forum under a (mechanical) cloud of problems.

I have a 1993 Dodge Grand Caravan AWD model, that was bought new in 1993, had 53K miles put on it, then it was garaged in 1998 in the S.Cal desert.
And there it sat.
Until I pulled it out in 2016... where I gassed it up, then slapped on new Chinese tires, a battery and an oil change, it started right up and I drove it at breakneck pace back home to Ohio.
It's been a real champ, so I'm going to be posting here to get a handle on my no start condition.

Welcome to the Forum. What engine? transmission?

Do you have a Haynes Manual and/or access to data bases, such a Chilton, at a local library?

I have a Haynes Manual and may be able to help at times.

No Sir, I don't have any books other that the original paper back owners manual for the van.
As for the technicals, it's a 3.3 liter engine with the AWD transmission, which I believe is a 41AE. I should know that, as I did a partial rebuild on the tranny back in February, with a trans kit from Transtar.

I made a thread here.

Howdy from the Hudson River Valley!
The name is Kira.
A pal just bought a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan leftover.
A/O this morning it has 210 miles on it. He hasn't owned it one full day yet.
I am his "tech spear head" as I love maintaining vehicles.
Given that the previous new owner intro is 6 months old I hope this isn't a dead or dying board.
Cheers Congrats to anyone who loves the Tampa Bay Lightening and RIP to the NY Mets

Hi all this is my intro post and I'm glad to be here. I live in NE Ohio and have a 2015 Dodge GC AVP purchased new in October of 2015 as my retirement vehicle. It now has 73000 painless trouble free miles on it, runs great. Since it is the cheap AVP I added a Yakima roof rack using the towers and round bars (the only style they sell for the DGC) and the wind deflector. I use it to cary lumber for woodworking that won't fit inside or a big Yakima SkyBox. Also added a class3 receiver hitch for bike racks or to tow my 16' sailing dinghy. My wife and I have been to Florida a few times, Washington DC a bunch and Michigan's UP couple time a year. Plus all over PA and Ohio. I use a Garmin with an iOttie Easy One Touch 5 Dash mount.
