My '05 DGC C/V has 177k.
Mechanically everything is in pretty good shape. Rust is starting to take hold, though. I haven't decided whether I want to fix it or move on to something else. I know how to fix it myself, I just don't know if I want to. The fuel mileage is the only thing I don't like about the van.

All the other vans are not much better... what do you expect from a classic (non-hybrid) 3 tons van? It's a shame we never got the Diesel version they have in Europe...
Oh, it's not bad for what it is, usually between 18-20mpg. I just don't really need a van. If I do decide to part with it, I'll probably get a little hatchback or station wagon. I already have a pickup for hauling big stuff.

No kidding on that. The rust underneath is unbelieveable on my 04 as well, and I also have a fair amount of body rust to take care of (passenger door rusted through, rear dog legs and around wheel wells, rocker panel at rear dog leg rusted through (replaced in 2014).
I wonder if the use of brine is making things worse than when we just had rock salt. There is a lot (and really a lot) more rust under my 04 than my 98 (not driven since 2014).
Around here, especially on this God forsaken mountain, the state is generous with everything imaginable- rock salt, brine, and calcium chloride. I see pickups that look like they are 5 years old starting to rot out already.

If I hang onto my van, I am going to have to do some rust repairs. The underneath is still excellent, but the rockers, rear doglegs, and the bottoms of the doors are just starting to get bad.
