The reason I bought one, besides having a handicapped wife, was all of the miles folks on here seem to get out of them and every used one advertised had a gazillion miles one it. Figured the T&C would outlast me.
I'm on my third one. First two I put over 300,000 miles on them, sold both with perfect original motor and transmissions. Engine oil change every 3000 miles or so, never changed transmission fluids on any of them.

Good choice, my 2012 is also an ex-rental, got it very, very cheap.

Never changed transmission fluid? Wut

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
Exactly!

I never change ATF on any of my vehicles, went well over 500,000 miles on some, never had a transmission problem (other than involved on an accident).

The way I see it, those who remove transmission pan are more prone to have transmission problems than those who never remove transmission pan.

Ladyfriend has had many vans, this is my first. We traded in her '09 with 88k on it for a '15 CTC, former rental with 54k on the clock. Was purchased as CPO. Now up to 61k with no issues. Van is used for day trips to local parks and longer trips. Just back from Key West, has been to Pikes Peak, CO, and South Padre Island, TX. It is an absolute pleasure to drive, very comfortable, outstanding milage, audio is great. Will be using it to tow new boat purchase to local lakes.
One funny hitch, the VERY DAY after bringing it home, message says it needs oil change. Dealer had said it was "fully serviced", ha ha ha......Took it to local dealer (not where purchased) and had them do fluids and filters. Sent $125 bill to purchasing dealer, who never responded. Gotta love those guys!
That oil change message doesn't necessarily means an oil change was needed, they probably forgot to reset the clock.

Fluids and filters? What do you meant by that?

Seems like you were better off with the other dealer.

Just rolled the dice last night and picked up a 2012 with 299,620 miles on it. Have confirmation that the transmission was replaced at the dealer at the 278,500 mark. Runs great...all of the major important things seem to work well. Blind spot ability is disabled and I realize that feature has been a nightmare so I'm not going there....not worth the expense. Otherwise all is in working order...super clean inside and out...motor sounds and runs excellent. The price was pretty attractive so I felt it was worth the gamble. Now I just need to scour the boards here to learn everything I possibly can. I know that some of these Gen have had issues with just shutting down with no CEL thrown...I've read this could be one of 4 things....3 of which I'm looking to replace asap just as preventative
1. Cam shaf position sensor
2. Crank position sensor
3. EGR
4. TIPM (NOT looking forward to that being a problem...fingers crossed...way expensive)

If anyone has advise for a newbie on these let me know...i'm looking to learn all I can.

None of those need to be replaced as P.M.

2008 T&C signature with 187,000. It has had the common brake issue, oil loss, ABS lights, transmission rebuilt (still having problems with that solenoid pack), front blend door, etc, etc. However, now that we are nearing 200k, I can say overall we have enjoyed this van and have gotten our moneys worth. In the next year or two we will look at getting a new Pacifica.

Do they still do the license plate frames? With summer trips coming up, I bet we will hit 200k soon.
If you are talking about the high mileage club, I haven't seen anything official but look at this thread:

31.3 miles per engine hour. Mmmmmmm

At 36.7 miles per engine hour, my van is faster than yours.
:happy1:
You know what?

I completely forgot about cluster change, new cluster had high mileage stored, maybe hours are also stored on the cluster and I just forgot about it.

Maybe Steffen.m would clarify this.

I bought my 2009 GC just under 3 years ago with 214k on it. I mostly retired it as my work vehicle with 407k on it. Still runs well, but I needed something a few less miles on it, so I bought another 5th gen; this time a 2014 RAM C/V Tradesman with 128k on the clock that had been a DirecTV installation van all its life.

Good luck on that one.

DirectTV installers drive on very rough roads. Make sure you check suspension.

I have put a few thousand miles on it since purchase, including 1000 miles on the way home. It could use shocks and struts, but it tracks straight with no clunks. The previous operator was a smoker, against company policy, so it kind of reeks. The brakes were shot, so I wound up getting the front brakes serviced right after I picked it up. Other than that, and a couple of acorns in the blower motor's squirrel cage, it's been great so far.
Next time you visit a motel, ask one of the maintenance guys to let you use their O3 generator overnight, they probably would if not using it. That would kill cigarette odors very well.

If someone jumps on this thread and tell you not to do it because it would damage plastic trim in your vehicle, just don't listen, it would take a very long time of use to cause any damages.

Good luck.

Be very careful with any device that emits ozone. The maximum allowed, expose level for SHORT term exposure is 50 ppb, (parts per billion). There really is no safe level for ozone. It can cause severe lung damage even in what would be considered a very short time. This damage can be cumulative over time and can cause severe irritation and scarring of the lung tissue and can cause breathing difficulties, coughing and even unconsciousness in a fairly short time. Ozone has been shown to have almost no effect on odor removal and does not cause dust or smoke particles to settle on surfaces for cleaning. The best and safest device for odor and particulate removal is a quality HEPA filtration device/system. An ozone generator may not harm the plastic surfaces in your vehicle, but it can and probably will cause lung damage and other deleterious health effects.
I do have a ozone generator, it kills smoke odors for good in a couple of hours, don't know where you get your information from. Ozone even kills odors from clothes, drapery etc. No HEPA filtration system alone can do it.

Ozone generators should always be used on unoccupied space, never to be used as a daily air conditioner.

And you know what? as stated before, the sweet smell you notice right before a thunderstorm is nothing else but ozone generated by the atmospheric electric discharges, everybody feels better after breathing it, can't be as bad as you say.

All hotels use ozone to kill smoke odors, couple of hours and you're done.

Ozone is used to disinfect potable water, also used in pools and many other places.

Now, in case you got your information from an EPA page (seems like you did), I'll recommend you to read the complete article.

Crossed 200000 miles on our 2008 3.8. yesterday. I replaced the cylinder heads of the 3.8 with new ones (lucky to find 0mile real mopar ones) just last week because the valves were worn by driving on lpg. Anyone know if this high milers club with the licence plate holders still exists and if they also have european size plate holders?

I believe that program not longer exist. Haven't seen any official documentation but a couple of members here posted something about it.

Anyways, 200k is not much of accomplishment, especially if you bought your vehicle used and with much of that mileage already. I would prefer to be on the zero mile club.

If you really like that license plate holder, you can buy one used on ebay or craigslist.

I have a 2014 30th anniversary TC and traveled across Canada towing a travel trailer (Apex 191RBS) with as well as several states and running strong with 276,000 KM. It tows like a dream, driving for about 8 to 10 hours before stopping for the night. Many times we even forget the trailer is at the back. I can tell you that you have a great vehicle. Hope this can help anyone who is trying to decide.

QCP,

I do a lot of trailering, our vans are pretty good at it, but no way so good that you may forget you are pulling such a heavy trailer, let's not confuse people new to trailers.

You don't have to copy your post to every person, just one for everyone should be enough.
