I hope you live in a dry area with no snow... otherwise, it would die without even driving it... 17,000 miles in 9 years

You can never see one like this in Canada 😭

It doesn't go out in winter. I live in Chicago, Illinois. The van is just about perfect. Not a spot on it with new fluids in it at all times. Not as much as a foot print on the carpets and the paint on the underside of the van is still clean and spotless. I do drive it during the Spring, Summer and Fall. Next to it in the same garage is a 1993 Buick Century I bought 29 years ago that gets the same treatment. I keep my cars for a very long time. It's a sickness.

Just turned 75k. Car has had engine and transmission work done under warranty, total cost to me was $100. Front struts, link-pins and bushings were on me. All seems fine now, would love to do some more traveling after past two years. Will probably hit for a new set of good tires next year.

What was wrong with the struts? What were the symptoms?

A lot of rattling, clunking noises. I was told the sway bar bushings were also toast, which probably contributed to the noise. Car has been in TX and NM its whole life, very hot; prior use as a rental.

Unless you did the underside painting when it was new and then it was never driven in the winter, I don't see this is possible!

They come factory painted underneath and as long you do regular undercarriage washes it will be fine. I have my own undercarriage washer that attaches to my power washer. My under carriages are kept clean.

They get washed at least weekly.
Use a good local wash with a good underbody cycle.
Simple vehicle maintenance.
Well, most car washes inside gas stations do not have an underbody cycle... and the ones that have are costly... weekly washes would cost a fortune 😢
During the winter, that water would instantly freeze... the air blower does not blow the underbody.

Try that during the winter...
