Several random 2nd gens. Wish there were more images to tell the story of the build and how they were used.

This one is similar to the one above, just a slight difference.

Still more 2nd gens, these are popular to convert over.

Look at the hood mod on this one. I suppose with the rear wheels push outwards, the wheel wells are not in the bed.

What makes a good candidate for making a CaraTruck, I would say this one fits the ticket.

Wish I had more on this yellow 2nd gen conversion.

A single shot image is only found.

It is unique with a wooden bed.

Image

And this single image in the EU, I like the high back bed. (y)

Time to step up into the 3rd generation Caratruck conversions.

If you recall the 2nd gen Fargo conversion, this one follow along nicely for the 3rd gen version.

The 1st step of conversion,

Plenty of space behind the seats and the lift-gate 6x9 speakers are seen.

These things look like the early 1980s Volkswagen rabbit USA mini trucks only a little bigger. There are none left in our universe as far as I know.

But, I would think these minivans would lose a lot of structural integrity with that roof off. How are they not sagging?

I suspect they now have less payload capacity than they do when the roof is intact.

I wonder if anybody weld some extra frame bracing on the bottom of the unibody belly pan?

Since they have no longer sold mini trucks in the USA for at least a decade, this would maybe be a good idea.

USA Toyota Tacomas no longer count as they are bigger than what they used to be and are a huge expense. Plus most of those that were made in the early 2000s and lived their lives in the Northland with salt were recalled /then recycled due to frame failure. The official test was a certain weighted ball peen hammer struck against the frame. If it went in, they took your keys and that’s when the negotiation started. This happened to friends of mine.

Of course, the new mini trucks in the USA are now half electric / all electric cost a lot of money / all kinds of extra BS that most of us do not want.

Being on the concept topic before showing the 4th gen conversions, lets see what has been concepted,

A 5th gen look quad cab with 4 doors, no sliders, as the new Dakota.

You know, this is not a dumb SUV, nor a minivan, nor a full truck. It is practical too.
Image

From there Mopar tried to gather interest with their physical concept. Plug it in and charge it baby!

Hmmm... Caratruck, really!
Ok I'm sorry, but the name does not fit... I guess it could be called a Carawagon... maybe..., maybe!
But that could never be used as a truck!
This things were built on a car chassis and intended for passenger service.
Just because it appears to have a pickup truck bed on it does not make it a "pick-uo" much less a "truck".
I bet you can't even haul a pallet of mulch back there without breaking something!
“Caruck” ? Maybe Fisher price is better.? Lol

There are times I wish the back of the van was taller to fit taller stuff inside.

Example, I got for free a nice lawn swing. I only had the van and not the RAM. It wouldn't fit INSIDE, and it matched all the other Aldi yard furniture we had. I knew I had to take it or loose it.

So, I opened the lift-gate all the way, tossed a thick blanket I had on hand on the outside of the lift-gate, then hung the swing off the lift-gate and bungied the legs to the inside rear seatbelt webbing on each side. :ROFLMAO: :geek: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :geek:

I only had to go 3.5 miles, slowly. A CaraTruck would of worked perfectly. (y) I once had a Dakota with a 5.2L/318 Magnum, engine and trans strong, body rusted awayyyyyyy.
