As the title states I have a 2007 Dodge Caravan with airbag Light on intermittently and the 'Passenger side squib #1 circuit open' code read. I've searched online and found two previous threads relating to this issue: https://forum.chryslerminivan.net/showthread.php/18856-Passenger-Squib-Circuit-Open and https://forum.chryslerminivan.net/showthread.php/49633-Fixed-SRS-light-how-to-check-clockspring#/topics/49633?page=2. I have opened up the area around the glove box but am unable to locate any yellow connectors that are seen in the aforementioned thread. I assume that an 02 would be similar to an 07, any help would be great as I'm reluctant to bring it to the dealer. Attached are a few photos I snapped will I was trying to locate them. Thanks!

Where exactly did you find that connector? I'm been trying to track down this same issue for months and can't seem to locate this connector.

I believe that is the collision sensor that tells the vehicle has been in an accident and sends a signal to 'consider deploying the airbags'.

I say 'consider' because I hope there are more things that have to be in place before an FCA computer decides to explode an incendiary device in my face!

I don't know for sure, but from other experience (and looking at Levy's photos) that this is outside the cabin, likely up front. Positioned behind the grill or some other likewise location where a head on collision would be detected.

Let us know what you find and what you did for the remedy. I can imagine that someone else may benefit from your report and findings.

I don't remember the story behind Levy's situation but I gather that there may have been an incident involving a large Chihuahua.

This is what caused air bag light on my 06 DGC:

Found the problem, but I could not believe what I saw! :Wow1:

Look at the pictures, the sensor was not properly wired, it was an accident waiting to happen!

Both wires were damaged, one was touching the frame and the other was very close to touch the frame too!

I believe the dog did hit both wires and pushed them against the frame, one got cut and the other one was close to being cut. Had those two wires touch the frame at the same time, I believe the airbags would deploy!

If this sensor works as I think it does (just as a switch), as soon as the other wire touches the frame the airbags would deploy, that could happen any time while driving on the highway.

Anyways, the wires were repaired, the airbag light is not longer on, I'm happy!

Thank you guys!
