Today I retired my 2007 GC and picked up a 2019 GC, and thanks to all who helped with some comments on a previous post. Seems like a nice van and hope to have the good luck I had with my previous one.
A couple quick questions. Good protection floor mats, Weather tech or Husky? Seems like the two players unless there is another one. Any opinions on a decent set of seat covers. Would like not to spend top dollar but need some dust protection that is reasonable. How about a good cell phone cradle that works well with the dash layout. Air vent mount? What else is there? My old van I screwed the mount right to the dash, lol. Would happily accept any other advice and tips. Thanks

Had a vent mount a couple cars ago and didn’t like it. It was loose and interfered with to much air. I’m sure they have better ones now though. I leaned phone between the 2 gauges on top of steering wheel which was o.k. But didn’t like not being able to see the small digital display for other functions. Did order Husky floor mats. Still searching seat covers.

I have Weathertechs, and they're the same harder type of material. I had been thinking they would be more rubbery like previous ones I'd had, but their perfect fit line (whatever it's called) is all harder material. I like them a lot though. But I have the bigger deluxe/non stow and go seats, and people said the Weathertechs aren't as good for stow and go seats.

On the cell mount side of things, I looked at a lot of options because I can be OCD about stuff... And ultimately Verizon has a sweet basic one that mounts to the vents nicely, and it has done very well for me for 4+ years in mine. I like that it is highly adjustable, and can be easily moved to whatever other car etc if I want someday. It doesn't use the stupid magnetic backing nonsense either, it locks in by just adjusting clamp things sideways and has foam bumpers so you can get a tight grip without messing up your phone. Fits a wide range of sizes. It works for me! Just look at Verizon accessories and you'll see the one I'm talking about.

I will check it out. Not a big fan of anything above dashboard height so it looks like a vent mount is only option.
Funny. Never knew Routan was related to caravan until recently.
The vent setup has worked great for me. Mine is the same basic principle (shelf to sit on, clamps on sides) as the one Levy posted, but no charging. There are a lot of variants of that kind of thing out there. I just know my Verizon one has held up a long time, mounts very securely on these vents, and gets the job done. I'm sure there are better ones out there, but that one has worked!

Yeah, the Routan is a funny thing. After test driving some other brands I pretty much decided on a DGC/T&C because of a lot of little reasons. I had honestly never even consciously noticed a Routan in the wild before then, but found out it was a sister vehicle. When I was shopping I really wanted a T&C because I hate the looks on the DGC, but the vehicle that ended up having the miles/options that worked for me ended up being a Routan SEL Premium. I actually think the Routan is the nicest looking out of the 3 versions, with the T&C a close 2nd. When I ended up buying another one I was looking for a T&C again, but a great deal on a Routan came up again so now I've had 2 of them!

If/when I end up buying another I will probably try for a T&C again, mainly just for the stow and go (even though you can swap seats easily enough), but knowing my luck I'll end up with another Routan! A weird thing I noticed when shopping is the Routans seem to sell for a little less money than comparable T&Cs. People just don't know to look for them, so I think that holds the resale value down a bit. Even KBB shows lower values by a few grand for comparable year/mile/options than a T&C. 99% of parts are the same so they can be a good value buy if one can live without stow and go and the couple other options they didn't get.

Do these vent holders you have use the clamp style holder or the hook with spring. Had the hook one a few years ago and it did damage the vent.
So I’m guessing volkswagen took a Chrysler product and slapped a VW tag on it. Seems odd.
After owning my 07 GC with stow n go, it was the only option I looked for when searching for my next van.

Sorry, hadn't been to the site in a few. The Verizon ones are hook/spring. At least on the vent design these vans have I never had any problems with damaging the vents, and I've snagged the thing and pulled on it hard a number of times when I was being clumsy! So I think they're fine in this usage.

Yeah, the pretty much slapped a VW badge on a Dodge! They're essentially identical in all ways. There are a few pieces of sheet metal that are different, a few minor interior bits, but much is the same still both inside and out. Chrysler wouldn't let them have a few cool features on the Routan, but you can get pretty much any normal "nice" option you can think of. Seats can be swapped for stow and go too if ya want. As I understand it the only mechanical differences were different shocks or something to give it a stiffer more "German" ride... Which IIRC Chrysler actually somewhat adopted as an option on later DGCs/T&Cs or something anyway? But basically they're the same dif.

It was a weird partnership to be sure, and VW didn't sell a ton of Routans, even though they're nice looking vans, mainly because they tried to charge a ton more just for the VW badge and most people aren't that daft!

I have had the Husky custom mats, but the best I have found are the 3D Maxpider whole car mats. I believe they are much cheaper. They don’t curl over time, too.

I went with husky, the front ones cover more and go up higher than the weathertech. I did my research and comparison shopped , but the deadpedal got more coverage with husky and I know how dirty that spot would get. I have a '14dgc. They also seem more rigid than the weathertech. My sister has a sienna with weathered and the plastic seems thinner and more pliable. I don't like that .
