plus odmer isn't counting the km I've drvining since...

this stinks, 3 minor issues have come up lately, a flat tire, my starter getting loose (when started it would scream after... then wouldn't engage the flywheel... thankfully it was just loose, tightened it and she starts like brand new) and now this whitch is scary but I know its fixable

ok so I know my tranny is good cause the fluid check is ok... I've read about this though... whats going on? RPM and temp gage are working fine, gas gauge never really worked in the first place.. I lifted the battery wires out to clean the terminals and its still acting up

what is is exactly that needs to be replaced to get it going properly again? it's a fixable reachable part right?

The speed sensor on my 3.3L (41TE transmission) is located on the front of the transmission, at the leftmost extreme. It's right behind the leading edge of the drivers idea tire, it has a two wire plug that faces forward towards the radiator.
If you were to rent an OBDII scanner from the autoparts store that reads real time data, you would be able to see the speed that the ECU is registering. You should also be able to measure the resistance with a multimeter, but I couldn't tell you what the resistance is supposed to measure. Oil can get into the connector or it could be corroded, you might try unplugging the connector and seeing if it looks clean.

I can see one of the speed sensors... where is the other?

and how the **** to I get at it, I hate working on these vans so much... everything is tight and in the way of everything else... do I go up underneath... then how do I remove and see it? is their a video or pictures of exactly what the caravan/voyager looks like?

ok... thanks to this I have more clearity- I'm attacking it from the top down

the inside sensor I've changed and I can tell the gunk makes it bad and its lost its magitism...but I'm having a major problem with the far most sensor- its in an awakard spot and refuses to come out! like the guy said only use an 11' socket whitch is what I have...

but it's not wanting to teeth and twist.... how can I get this outside one out? vice grip slips and I don't want it drive with it in half assed

Are you having problems with the 1 inch sensor? You typed 11'. Did you spray penetrating fluid on it to loosen it up and use a wire brush to remove any rust? I use a mix of atf and acetone as my penetrating fluid.

There is probably rust on the bottom of the sensor.

Are you using a long breaker bar to get leverage or just a small ratchet? I would be using a breaker bar going slowly of course.

One is the output speed sensor, I believe the other measures the output speed of the torque converter.

yeah, I mean 1 inch socket.... the output sensor barely moves... I'm afraid I'm seriously stripping it... but it still bites. because its on an angle and the wires beside are in the way I can't get at it directly

no breaker bar, just small ratchet with a 2 inch long 1 inch socket... using dw 40... is there a better penetrating fluid?

thank god... penetrating fluid did the job, had to let it sit there for awhile, then friends whos tools I borrowed came over and twisted it off with his set of plyers...wow.

gave it to a guy who just hammered on it but clearly that was not that way it was gonna come out, got it back from him battery nearly dead

sorry the topic was so messy but I'm so glad to close the books on this one. drives like it should- it was the output sensor all this time for sure
