And there it is.

#3 ·
OEFIX - Dorman Oil Filter Housing Assembly, part # 926-876

#4 ·
Under the part number it says this part fits "Chrysler 2018-17 & 2015-14" . So what do you do if, like me, you own a
2016? Is there really any difference on a 2016 vs 2015 or 2017? Not that I need one of these right now, just wondering.

That whole year bit makes no sense to me either. It probably is "swap your guts" compatible with the 2014-redesigned part. There's a difference in how the 11-13 cooler block is shaped and what filter they use compared to all years since.

The video (Post #3) says select Pentastar engines from 2014 to 2919. The video (2:10) also shows the kit which includes manifold gaskets, bolts, etc. Reuse the old oil cooler.

The anti-Dorman camp will bleat all their stuff is cheap.
I don't believe that's the case but I've only scratched the surface of their huge catalog.
A Dorman rep told me they only sell through a parts store which already sells their stuff.
I've never asked a counterman to special order for me so I don't know how prompt their service is.
Ask or look for the "Dorman" or "HELP" line of blister packed parts -window cranks, drain plug gaskets etc.

According to the replies on the video Jeepman posted, we should expect them in stores next month. No word on pricing except that it should be less than OE (given it doesn't have the cooler block or sensors, it should be).

Count me as Dorman-skeptic. My experiences so far have shown quality to be at a level I'd call "good enough to install if you're about to sell the car." But in the case of this part, Chrysler set the quality bar very low. And made in USA? I'll be buying one!

Although I searched the P/N on their website and it doesn't show up?

I found it on a Facebook group dedicated to Suped-up Caravans. :p Think you have to be a member to see posts, but it's right here, though it doesn't give any more info than here.

Interesting thing. This thread is the 2nd Google result when searching for this part with "dorman 926-876". #1 being the video embedded above. Bet the Dorman guys are thrilled to see "Hallelujah!" in reference to their product.

Or go back to Post #6. :)

I looked just yesterday, maybe Monday, and it still said out of stock.

#24 ·
It was in stock when I posted it. Added one to my cart and when I got home and ready to type in my card info, it's gone. Oh, well. I'm not in a big rush to get it, else I would have spent my lunch break trying to type up my card number on my phone. :p

Beware though, the fact that these sold out so fast means that prices will likely be higher once they get back in stock.

Now, did they put a bypass valve in that thing or do you have to depend on some contraption in the filter cap or whatever?

Second question: Do they have a spin on filter adapter for that so one can get a new bypass valve with every filter change?

#23 ·
It's for '14+, so the bypass isn't part of the adapter base.

If you really need one, and this part is already out, go to your local Advance Auto parts.

Look for the manager and ask him to order that part direct from the warehouse that supply the parts to them. Not all the employees can or know how to order directly from the wholesale supplier (not from Advance's warehouse, but from their suppliers).

I used to buy all our racing parts, directly from their supplier.

Usually you get the part next day.

The same is possible at Autozone, O'Reilly's, and probably other major parts stores. My local Autozone's district manager was just bragging the other day about how she could get some hard to find parts that weren't even listed on their site. Think she was dreaming when she thought she could get that '15 F-150 valve body control wire frame that had been discontinued.

Funny this bit about Advance.
I accepted a pile of new, forgotten parts for cleaning out cuz's garage; all from Advance with receipts.

I took 'em to my Advance for exchange and selected their top shelf brake rotors -easily doubling the price of the returned items.
Delivery took one entire overnight.

The parts were A1.
An auto tech friend in another state ALWAYS bought his parts at his Advance and always got the best stuff.
And no, I have no connection with AAP.

It's for a 2014+ apparently but likely could be used for the previous problem prone years, if it bolts down okay and the cooler fits? 2014+ was a redesign and should be better built than previous years so I don't expect the failure rate to be high. Better not be.

I think this newer adapter can be used on all 3.6L, but you have to make sure to also get the newer cap and use the newer filter.
