Hi Everyone,

I need to replace the driver side lower control arm bushing. I noticed looking at the bolt holding the control arm to the frame. It will interfere with the transmission during the removal process. So I ask has anyone replaced this control arm and how did you over come the removal of the bolt interfering with the transmission? Is there a service bulletin covering this or a work around for this?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Erik

I've read multiple threads on this subject recently, and docpan has the answer that about half of the people use. Get another bolt from the dealer and somehow, it magically slides in easily. The other half disconnect one of the engine mounts and jack up the engine/transmission enough to clear the bolt.

If your talking about the rear bushing i have never found a replacement. it's better to replace the arm you get new bushings, ball joint. that bolt called a pivot bolt just scrapes the tranny and will come out. i just did my 03 T&C both sides. some P.Blaster and patients is all that is needed.
