Gauges dead

My dashboard guages are completely dead (e.g., speedometer, turn signals, tach, check engine lights) on my '01 Voyager. The only thing that works are the lights that illuminate the guages that go on with the headlights. I took out the guage cluster thinking that harness that I disconnected a month ago to replace the panel lights was loose, but that's not the case. Anyone know what would lead to this failure?

I tried the reset procedure by holding down the odometer button but had no luck. I haven't checked the fuses, although if it were a fuse problem, I'd think that the lights that illuminate the guage lights would also not work, but perhaps they're fused separately. Something that may also be relevant, the rear window washer sprayer isn't working, something the dealer blames the BCM.

Before trying anything else go under the hood in the fuse and relay center and find the IOD fuse and pull for like 3 minutes then reinsert . This will reset the bcm and may help your symptoms . If not then the bcm may have flaked out on you , hopefully not as they are real pricey to replace. All the stuff you are talking about is controlled by the bcm.

Prob a BCM issue....Had the same problem...Get ready to cough up over $200 for a new one, and dont get the bright idea to go to the wrecking yard for a used one cause it wont work..Gotta be new, and SADLY factory installed so that the new BCM can be "Wed" into the system....It sucks but they got us by the short hairs on some of this stuff!!!! If you think that is fun....Upgrade to a model that has Contained Area Networking....A real bitch to work on electronically...

Welp...ok but, I've read of several who have gotten a junkyard BCM and fixed their issues. They do have to get the identicle part number BCM and they do have to take it to the dealer to have it programed to match their vans VIN number and mileage. Also there was something about if the van has the factory alarm system that could screw things up. Don't recall exactly. You can also get BCMs from companies that rebuild them and they will do the programing for you. They just need the VIN.

BOBC96 - Yes, disconnecting the battery will accomplish the same as pulling the IOD fuse. You don't have to disconnect it over night. Just 2-3 minutes.

New information...the damned turn signals don't work either. It sucks not having a fuel gauge. I disconnected the battery and will let it sit overnight. Hopefully that will accomplish the same thing as pulling the IOD fuse.

That is true enough...You can go that route as long as you go to the dealer for the install....It may be different for the older gen's....I know my 02 t&c had a BCM issue...I lost all dash lights and gauge function...I do remember you cant just go down and buy one used, slap it in. and go back to the street....I knew there was some issues that had to be taken care of with the VIN codes....

I've done more that that. I took out the cluster while the vehicle was on and wiggled the harness behind it to make sure that it was properly seated. Nothing happened. I'm fairly certain it's the BCM. My dealer said that the BCM was the cause of my rear windshield wiper not spraying, so it's probably getting worse.

If this company can fix a BCM, I'll post it. It seems like they could save several members of this forum a headache.
