Hitch Install - 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan

Hi Everyone

I have obtained a hitch from a 2010 Dodge Caravan, I know the hitch will bolt up no problem, but what I want to know is will I have to cut my bumper..?

Also, has anyone done their own install? I have no problem doing this kind or work, and from what I have found out all that has to be done is drop the exhaust (1 clamp I guess) and then bolt it up with existing bolts. I have a torque wrench, so doing it to proper specs (if I can find them) shouldnt be an issue.

My van does not have a towing package, but I only plan on using the hitch for a bike rack right now, and possibly a small utility trailer at times.

So, if anyone knows about having to cut the bumper or not, and also if anyone knows install specs for hitches, that would be perfect!

Oh, its a U-HAUL brand hitch.

I believe it is only the Mopar hitch that requires cutting the bumper, the others hang below it. You may have to do some trimming, though as the '10 vs. '11 rear bumper cover is different - I would imagine that the mounting points underneath would be the same. It may just bolt right up without any trouble.

Installed last weekend on my 2012 a hidden hitch with the Curt Wiring harness. Easiest bolt on ever. Since mine has no rear air con I didn't even have to worry about the Freon line that runs near the hitch install area on those equipped vans. One word of advise from my experience is when you install the wiring harness black box inside the drivers side rear light cavity well, go low because they only give you one piece of 3m double sided tape to stick the box on. I was about 6 inches to high and when I route the other wire to the the other light I was short. I ruined the double sided tape by ripping it off and had to run to the hardware store for more.
