I have done all my oil changes also, and although I do use a socket wrench, I am careful to make it just "hand tight". My 2014 was purchased in Nov 2013, so I have only 1 year left of warranty, my mileage will be below 50,000 at that point. Original design (for the early build 2014's) was poor, that's why they superseded the part.

According to the TSB, your build date should already have the updated part. NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles within the following markets/countries: NAFTA.
NOTE: This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or before January 20, 2014 (MDH 0120XX) equipped 3.6L Engine (Sales Codes ERB).
NUMBER: 09-008-15 GROUP: Engine. In any case, you should be covered under 5/100,000 warranty

I saw that. I am hoping it's the temp sensor or something simple under there. Just limited on time with needing to get home for work on Monday. We're in a small town in eastern Washington and this dealership is closed Saturday and Sunday. About 40 minute drive away is a larger town but with my rate of loss I don't know if that's a good idea. I have AAA so if the little dealership can't do it we will send it there

Yes it is covered and dont let them tell you otherwise .

my wife 2014 town and country is leaking oil my suspect is the oil filter assembly its only 41,000 miles. my question is it covered under the power-train limited warranty 5 yr / 100000 miles?

and if you guys have time to watch this video for for more information regarding the oil filter assembly problem https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f0doIZI-fp4

So an update. We found a dealership that had me repaired by 2 pm we still didn't hot the road till the next morning. We drove straight through. 19.5 hrs with 4 kids 10,7, and twin 2 year olds. I topped off the tank and got 500 miles between fillups clicking along at 70+. Van gets great mileage. There is something to be appreciated about listening to your engine run for that long straight. I love the van but dislike the plastic engine parts. I also don't care for the 62te transmission much it's rough in traffic. Smooth at high speed though.

Probably the worse shifting tranny I have ever owned .

We have this same issue in our 2014 Chrysler Town and County. We bought it in late November 2017, less than 45,000 miles on it, and in January noticed a huge oil leak. We took it back to the dealership and was told it was the Oil Filter Housing Assembly. We were then told that it was not covered by the 5 year / 100,00 mile Powertrain Warranty, not the Easy Care StatedCare Extended Warranty. We followed up ourselves with both Chrysler and Easy Care and were told by both companies that the oil filter housing is a standard part and not covered under the warranty. I've read both warranties, and they are correct in that the specific part is not referenced. I strongly believe that the part should be covered by the Powertrain Warranty, as it doesn't make sense for it not to be. Can you or someone else on this forum please tell me how you are getting this covered under the Powertrain Warranty? I'm not sure what else to do besides pay the estimated $700 out of pocket and just feel sick about it!

This is when (if indeed they cared) where Chrysler Cares would step in and clear up any doubt of whether it is covered or not....

PM Chrysler Cares. They let me know mine was covered. They even gave me a Free Rental for a few days.

Thanks for the reply. I messaged Chrysler Cares on Friday; however, they said they were not able to help me as I already have an open case with Chrysler Customer Service.

No one with Chrysler will say that the oil filter housing assembly is covered by the Powertrain Warranty. I just don't understand how some people are getting it covered and others aren't. I'm trying to understand what makes the difference.

Doesn't sounds like you really contacted ChryslerCares. ChryslerCares is a Chrysler employee and member of this forum who is assigned to watch Social Media and help people.

I sent Chrysler Cares, the username referenced in several posts from post #132, a PM on Friday afternoon. They said they were not able to assist me any further as I had an open case with Chrysler Customer Service and was scheduled to receive a call back from a supervisor, whom I had already spoken to and was less than helpful. Everyone at Chrysler is still telling me that this part is not covered by the Powertrain Warranty.

I'm just wanting to figure out how some individuals are able to get the part covered. Is there something different I should be saying to Chrysler?

Still, that answer:

Doesn't sounds like one from her. She always at least try. She even calls the dealer.

She even helped me when I had an accident in Mexico and needed a new transmission.

That's great that she's been able to help you so much! Here's the reply I received from ChryslerCares on this forum. I replied back to her message, but haven't received any further response.

RE: 2014 Chrysler Town & Country Oil Filter Housing
Hello,

I can see you currently have a case open in our system (#xxxxxxxx) and are awaiting a Supervisor callback. At this time we would recommend continuing to wait for this call as they will be best able to assist you further.

Andrea
Chrysler Social Care Specialist
I'm scheduled to receive yet another call from the supervisor on Monday morning. I'm just looking for the best information to share with her, showing that other Chrysler owners, with the same issue, are getting the problem covered by the Powertrain Warranty. I appreciate everyone's feedback and insight!!
