Rear Heater Bypass

It's time address my rusting rear heater lines. I think I'd rather just bypass the whole rear heater. Van doesn't get driven often in the cold, and I've probably used rear heat like 3 times..

Can I just run a new length of hose to heater core outlet from the end of steel line under exhaust manifold, from thermostat side

New length of hose from throttle body side steel line to heater core inlet.

How do these vans regulate coolant flow/temperature to heater core? I've seen other cars that use a cable operated valve in line to adjust coolant flow/temperature.

(I'm basically copying the hose routing from my dads non-rear heat van.)

A better solution is to terminate the connections instead.
Not sure what you mean by terminate, but yes, I will be eliminating the rear heater completely. Sounds like what Road Ripper did, is exactly what I'm planning to do. Just run hoses from the engine, right to the heater core.

I'll grab some new preformed sections of hose, because I like things clean I guess. Hoses for "w/o aux heater" vans.

Pretty much just loop where the inlet would go to the outlet.

Standard heater core delete on just about everything but an electric car that uses a stone-age toaster as a heater, ironically.
