Just curious if anyone knew right off hand -- how much do the 2nd and 3rd row bench seats weigh in 3rd gen minivans?

Exactly how mine is. The rear seat was never used in mine so it sits in the garage. Gotta help with MPG somehow, removing excess weight and such. I always guessed more than 75lbs though, maybe because the awkward shape and its difficulty to pick up. The wheels sure are great though.

I, too, have the 3rd seat in the 2nd position.

PS - you can remove, flip, and replace the seat locks in the floor of the 3rd row area. They're held on with nuts under the chassis. Doing so allows you to place the 3rd row seat backwards in the rear of the van, which is GREAT for drive-ins and picnics.

Interesting... I had guessed the 3rd bench was more than 75lbs too -- I thought the 2nd row bench was maybe about 75lbs. I'll have to set the seats on a scale someday (or get on a scale while I'm holding one of them).

Move Captains Chairs to 3rd Row??

Is there any way to put the Captains chairs from the 2nd row into the 3rd row after removing the 3rd row bench seat in the short wheelbase vans? There is almost no knee room between the 2nd row captain's chairs and the back of the front seats, so I'd like to move the captain's chairs back for more legroom. Suggestions?

It varies. That said, I cannot comment on the middle row bench as I've never lifted one (all three of our Gen 3 vans had Captain's chairs in the middle row), however, the rear bench did vary quite a bit in weight. The bench in our 1998 DGC Sport was reasonably heavy at maybe 40 pounds, the bench in our 1998 T&C LXi was a bit heavier but not hugely so, and the bench in our 1999 T&C Limited was the heaviest of the group, I'm guessing over 50 pounds and possibly as much as 60 pounds.
