I was downloading 5th gen brochures to figure out the different trims and options and I swear GT had a different and more sport suspension tune.

Also the cloth seats on my 25 year old Grand Voyager with 250k miles are far far superior to any leather seat I've ever seen as far as longevity. Driver seat looks as good as the passenger. And super comfy (I have 4th gen with leather too).

And doesn't Mercedes use fake leather (I'm down with any good materials).
According to the 2019 Canadian brochure, the GT comes with a "performance suspension" whatever that means. There is no GT in the US brochure as the GT was rental fleet only.

Mercedes does use fake leather, which they call "MB Tex". It's pretty good but they are upfront it isn't leather.

I owned a 2018 SXT and now I own a 2019 GT.

Differences are:
  • Leather/vinyl seats (GT) vs. cloth (faux suede)/vinyl seats (SXT)
  • Navigation system (GT)
  • LED interior lights with more, separately switchable lamps (GT) vs. incandescent dome lights that can't be switched on individually (SXT) (someone reading in the back would have th driver blinded by the front light also having to be on)
  • Inside roof console with multiple fold-down compartments (probably optionally fold-down DVD screens?), with a blue "halo light" (dimmable) all arouoond it (GT) vs. "plain roof" (SXT)
  • Instrument cluster info display has WAY more data and features/pages/modes on GT (on SXT, I coul;d never see the trip counter and odometer at the same time, GT has multiple items visible concurrently with more informative (text-based) warnings/data
  • Heated steering wheel and front seats (GT only)
  • Automatic climate control (GT) vs "regular A/C" (SXT)
  • Sound system has more spakers in GT, with better bass
  • Switchable 120V inverter in GT
  • Blackened headlight and front grille trim, as mentioned before
  • Black painted alloy wheels (GT) vs silver painted (SXT) (wheel patterns/shapes seem different)
  • Retractable sun shades for middle row windows
Everything else seems the same, EXCEPT my GT doesn't have a factory roof rack, which is a pity... (I'm contemplating installing one as they are handy)

Hope this helps, and good luck.
Thanks for this info!

After owning a GT for a year and a half (one of many Caravans all the way back to Gen 1), I finally got around to searching for the differences because I was curious what they are. Always hoped that I would discover some type of drivetrain or suspension performance feature but alas, there appear to be none unless you include the 17" rims. My exhaust seems to have a bit of rumble to it and a muffler shop mechanic mentioned the possiblity of a larger pipe on the GT model but I have not verified that yet. I did find one with a roof rack though. 😉 The red stitching on black trim is very cool.

Nope, no drivetrain, suspension or exhaust difference between GT and SXT, or any other trim.

The exhaust does have a growl to it, which is interesting because I also have a Journey with the same engine, but has dual exhaust outlets. You would think the Journey would have more exhaust sound than the DGC, but it's the other way around.
