Greetings! I recently bought a 2001 Chrysler Town & Country LX, and found that the rear speakers are missing entirely from this vehicle. There don't seem to be any tweeters in the rear (there's a black covered styrofoamish substance under the little round grilles) and only one wire harness inside the panel, with a 6-pin connector. I am assuming I have the Infinity system as I have only found pictures of that connector on amplified 6x9 speakers with the part # 04685855AF, which are def. Infinity system speakers.
Looking at the connector, I have not been able to find any matching speakers for sale that aren't an exorbitant price, so I was wondering if I could splice in a pair of 2-ohm or 4-ohm, 3-way speakers to that wiring, which wires I'd need for that out of that bundle, and how bad would that sound off the factory head unit, with the OEM speakers up front?
Anyone who can toss me a wiring diagram for that connector or tell me what=what?
Also, if this has a separate +/- feed for the tweeter (4 wires for sound and 2 for 12v for the amp I won't have), would I pigtail the two + together (and the same for the -) and connect the pigtails to the +/- terminals of a 3-way speaker, or simply splice into the main "woofer" set to get full range and full output power?
Thanks a million!
