I just did both oil changes last month without any issues.

I would never trust the "lube techs" at the dealer...especially with the delicate filter housing we have to deal with...

...Wife goes out to leave an hour later, van covered in oil prints outside and inside, kind of pissed.....they fix oil filter issue...Gets out to van, now more oil covered hood, door, interior panel, dash, and seat. they get detailer out and he takes back to shop and gives a quick cleaning.
Well, went to jump into van after some warranty work at a different dealer today and guess what? The entire top cushion outline of the center console is dirt/grease, the front passenger interior top piece(same light colour as console) has black fingerprints. Quick scan probably more over the black exterior and interior, but van is little dirty so I let that be. Explained to service manager that 2 different dealers has made a mess of the interior. I'm not being picky, he said holy sh!t, immediately wanted to take it into the detailing shop. I told him I have no time, so he ran back and grab some supplies and gave it a good 5min cleaning. I was satisfied with the no b.s. fix it approach and hopefully he ruins that technicians weekend like he said he would.

2014 Ram cracket oil filler assembly

I have 2014 Ram 1500 Bighorn 3.6. 30,000k mi I had the oil changed at local garage and apparently they over torqued the oil filter cap and cracked the housing. He is taking care of it and replacing the housing. This is a very poor design in my opinion. Probably a reminder to have the dealer service it.

my 2014 dodge caravan has had this problem, i notice almost all the oil was gone and there was oil all around the bottom of the engine only 36,000 miles on it and i keep up on regular maintenance
Where did you take it for oil changes? What is the build date of your van? At 36,000 miles probably not a warranty repair.

Hi joe12,

Have you had your vehicle in to your dealership for diagnosis? Please reach out if you need any assistance or if I can help make an appointment.

So, If i do my own oil change and the housing cracks, would it be repaired under warranty (assuming, of course, that the vehicle is still under warranty).
It should be. Sometimes playing dumb works best. Just tell them you think you have a leak.

Who changes the oil in your "regular maintenance schedule" , you or someone else?
