I’ve lost 3 of them all under 100k. 1 launched bearings at 78k after sitting for a week. 1 launched a rod at 98k getting on the interstate. 1 broke the rocker pedestal and destroyed a head at 88k.

They’re fine cruiser engines, but once you start pushing them they’re trash.
I don’t think anyone else on here has ever complained about problems like this. Rocker pedestals were a design problem, but were fixed. My first went 300k before the trans died, and my second 240k before the timing chain broke due to a cam bearing problem.

I guess your problems must have been a lack of maintenance. ;-)

Abuse.
They were ran hard, 2 of them were in my Off Road Voyager. The other was in my Sport Wagon that got AutoX’d.
